"Something"? SDSU has accomplished more in basketball during the life of the MWC than any other current or former member of the conference and it's not even close. Not that I think it's any great accomplishment but last I heard, we're also tied with UNM for most overall titles in this woebegone conference. And to the extent it matters, since the Big 3 left, we have the moved up to second behind CSU in academics, a subject you guys from Big Rig U know little about.

Yeah, but what about Women's Gymnastics, huh?

Lol, you guys are so easy. That envy drip keeps me laughing. Only Boise FB has been better than us chokers in the new MW. And overall we are blowing you chumps out of the water. No one used to care what aztecs said. Now we are the new borg.

The last couple years, yes, but what about over the last decade or even during your entire time in the MWC?

We had a good run for awhile in the mid 2000's, but yeah all those wasted years with Carter really put the brakes on for a bit

The difference between what SDSU did and what Nevada did boils down to one major factor. One program lost coaches to Stanford and Georgia and the other having continuity. And obviously the Carter years sucked. SDSU may be entering its version if not careful.

Also, Nevada would have gotten a HUGE boost from playing in the MWC. Recruiting, seeding, not having to win the WAC tourney some years because USU scheduled like chit. Kidding, sort of...

According to an AP writer, basketball is the only SDSU sport that has accomplished anything.

Then he went and named San Diego the "Worst sports city in America", beating out Atlanta, Buffalo, Cleveland, and Phoenix.

Quote

Column: What's the worst sports city in America?

By PAUL NEWBERRY AP Sports Columnist

http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2018/01/12/sports/ap-paul-newberry-worst-sports-cities.html

***********************************************************

SAN DIEGO

Major Pro Championships: None (as with Buffalo, we're not counting the Chargers' 1963 AFL title, nor the 10 indoor soccer titles won by the Sockers).

Flops: The Padres were blown out in their two World Series appearances. The Chargers only Super Bowl run ended with a 49-26 rout by the 49ers. A pair of NBA teams, the Rockets and the Clippers, abandoned the city.

Back To School: San Diego State twice reached the men's basketball Sweet 16 under Steve Fisher. That's about it for the college game.

Biggest Disappointment: After failing to work out a deal for a new stadium, the Chargers moved to Los Angeles last year .

OK, now you know the contenders.

Which brings us to, do we dare say, the winner?

Drum roll, please.

The worst sports city in America is ...

SAN DIEGO!

Of course, that city's long-suffering fans do get to live in San Diego.

So they've got that going for 'em.

I agree that Memphis deserved an A-

had we beaten Iowa State in the Liberty Bowl for win #11...that would have been an A IMHO
