Trump was warned Russia would try to infiltrate...

His campaign and told to notify FBI if any suspicious contacts were made.

WASHINGTON — In the weeks after he became the Republican nominee on July 19, 2016, Donald Trump was warned that foreign adversaries, including Russia, would probably try to spy on and infiltrate his campaign, according to multiple government officials familiar with the matter.

The warning came in the form of a high-level counterintelligence briefing by senior FBI officials, the officials said. A similar briefing was given to Hillary Clinton, they added. They said the briefings, which are commonly provided to presidential nominees, were designed to educate the candidates and their top aides about potential threats from foreign spies.

The candidates were urged to alert the FBI about any suspicious overtures to their campaigns, the officials said.

I think the point you are missing is the the Trump campaign ignored the warnings and continued to meet with Russians and chose not to notify the FBI about the contacts as requested by the FBI, and they somehow forgot that there were any meetings with Russians at all, and didn't report them on security clearance forms as required by law.

So if it was obvious that Russia was going to try to do this and that it is a bad thing then the campaign should have known not to engage with them and to report to the FBI any attempts by the Russians to infiltrate the campaign. And just to be sure the FBI told them explicitly the the Russians will most likely try to get involved in the election and this is what you should do if they try. Yet the campaign didn't do any of these things.

I've often heard in defense of the Trump Tower meeting" Who wouldn't meet with someone who claimed to have dirt on your opponent?" Well when the FBI specifically tells you not to meet with them and to report it probably isn't the best idea to take the meeting.

I'm sure Trump will be going to jail any day now.

No, as usual, you missed the point. It asked for suspicious overtures. This is standard with contact with any foreign national. There is no law that says a president elect, or any American citizen, can't speak to a foreign national.

But the obvious is they (sic) should be extremely, extremely suspicious when dealing with a foreign entity guised ,as ...well...anything. Don't talk potential shop.

Nothing suspicious about this email that Jr recieved and forwarded on? Did anyone contact the FBI? No. Instead they held a meeting with the Russians in Trump Tower.

“some official documents and information that would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with Russia and would be very useful to your father.”“This is obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russia and its government’s support for Mr. Trump,”

The Trump Tower meeting was in June and the FBI warnings came after Trump’s nomination in July.

We’re all sitting in the dugout. Thinking we should pitch. How you gonna throw a shutout when all you do is bitch.

Then the proper thing to do was to inform the FBI at that point. There were also other meetings and contacts after the FBI briefing. They had already been warned at that point. They continued having contacts. And didn't report any of them.

A senator met with a foreign ambassador and an on his way out Manafort met with one of his long time employees, with only Sessions’s meeting coming after the FBI first warned the Trump campaign.

They met with her, she didn't have anything and didn't make an overture for them to do anything illegal. What is there to report? Don't show me some article with opinion just for people like you to parrot. Go find the law and point out which law was broken.
