If I had to compare this board back then to today, I think there is much more diversity(a good thing) today and the political board was a good add.. One good thing back then is you had a lot more conference unity. Where as today, there's a lot of who is leaving or should be leaving to other conferences. 

 

I acted like a guest more or less, tried to reign in some other WAC posters.  Not very memorable.  

When I say the board is better now, I am mostly talking about the software.  The board does not crash randomly for X amount of time.  And you never wake up to the entire first page being filled with porn or shoe adds.  OT board is a good add, agreed.

Agree.  There are few old timers left.  Brew Poke still posts and a few others.  I think the familiarity we had with the programs and fans let us let fly with the family type screaming.  That is gone now except for a few rivalries still intact.  I won't admit it, but some of those BYU fans were great to have around.  Of course ones like eldemars made up for them at times ;).

BSU fans were a real pain when they first joined and just prior to joining.  I agree they are a better group now with some good posters.

I miss Cowboy Junky. He was the eternal Wyo Optimist. I heard he came back as a sock, which wasn't needed. People either loved the guy or hated him. Once Utah, then BYU left, I think all bets were off as far as strong conference unity. Then TCU.. With the recent yard sales in other conferences, It's kinda fend for yourself in the G5. I also think BSU, USU, Nevada, Fresno and even SJSU were good to decent replacements. 

There's many other old timers that moved on. The list is long.

Back before the MWC WAC merge & Utah / BYU departing, I recall you being one of the MWC posters who would take the MWC flag & plunge into the chest of any WACoff who dared think the WAC was MWC level - A fierce defense of the old MWC9 was what I recall from you back then

@IanforHeisman and I along with a few others had some great battles. Like I said, many of those guys are great posters as MWC fans.  Water under the bridge. All entertainment and a long time ago. I'm very harmless these days and still a MWC fan.. Western sports in general.

Also, I know a few of the WAC trolls of the time like @IanforHeisman found this place to pay back the trolling of people like mars on the WAC board.  Good times.

Ian started a thread in 2006 titled "is the WAC better than the MWC" and it drew like 5 BYU fans, an SDSU fan and a UNLV fan that proceeded to hijack EVERY thread.

Speaking of Mars.. Here's a good story. Pretty sure it was back on the ESPN board. Mars was the village idiot and even BYU posters beat him up.. @NorCalCoug probably remembers this story.

He went out of town and left his handle open, his wife jumped on and started chewing out everyone on the board about being mean to her little sweet pea.. We couldn't stop laughing. When he finally showed up again, he wouldn't say a word about his crazy wife protecting him.. Even after we quoted her posts several times.

How embarrassing is it to have your wife jump on a message board to save his honor.  I can only imagine their conversation about having your wife protect you on a dumb message board.

He didn't last long here.

Also @utenation while I was not very memorable early on, you and I did exchange a DM conversation in 2008.  You were despondent about a recent Utah performance and Boise just laid a huge beat down, you started a thread.  I posted my thoughts that Utah was still a program every bit as good as Boise.  You then sent me a DM calling me "one of the good guys".  I very much tried to act like a guest and kept my posts to MWC topics, not WAC topics.  You appreciated that at the time.  Not sure if you remember.
