maybe you should use that money to give your grads reading lessons.

#5 Hawaii pays travel subs for Oly sports.

You opened up the possibility that they don't pay. And you got rid of the football travel subs. What does it cost to send a football team to Hawaii? $70-$100k? Fck outta here. That's a lot of scholarships. You're dreaming

We can afford it, but you have to think about our less fortunate schools.

The ones that average less then 15K in attendance? I have a solution for that.

It isn't just the dollars Bow. It is the travel time there and back and the inconvenience that is on student-athletes, preparation for the next game, travel for fans, etc. It's a pain in the ass. It's more effective and efficient to play a team down the highway, even if it is an FCS team. Having Hawaii in the Mountain West Conference under the current terms is a convenience to Hawaii not to the rest of us.

I think everybody in this conference counts attendance the same way, tickets distributed.

It should be tickets paid for.  Tickets distributed includes freebies  which means no revenue.

1. Equal shares for the TV rights profits. 1/12 to each participating school to include Hawaii.

2. Allow all MWC schools to keep all Tier 3 TV deals profits. (If your school don't have one, then too bad) (Welcome back BYU)

3. Invite BYU and UTSA into the MWC. BYU and UTSA goes to the Mountain division and Boise goes to the Western division.

4. Invite Hawaii for all sports.

5. If accepted by Hawaii, waive all travel subs for football but have Hawaii Oly sports pay travel subs for the first 5 years. Travel subs will be waived for Hawaii's Oly sports only if they obtain an NCAA tourney credit for that sport.

6. Put schools under probation for withdrawal if they draw 15K and less per football home game. 3 straight years of 15K or less and you get the boot.

7. Allow transfers to sit out only 1 year (instead of 2) for inter-conference transfers for all sports. Allow inter-conference grad transfers to play immediately.

8. Fire Hair and hire  @mugtang as the commish.

In other words, put everyone on a equal playing field. Both financially and on the playing field/court.

You have lost your mind.  Bleeding heart hippi.  No to most of this garbage.  Sack it up, or move back down.  Life is tough up here.

Teams have been coming to Hawaii for the last 50 years and only now it's a problem. Need to turn it into a positive and use it as a recruiting tool.

Hawaii should go indy with some scheduling arrangements with the MWC.  No knock on their athletics, but the geography sucks and the 'Bows use that as an advantage.  Probably not near the advantage we have when they come to the Mtn. schools though.  As much as I like having Hawaii in the conference, I really think it only works if they can move the islands 50 miles off the coast of San Diego.  I like Hawaii.  I think you should be indy.  It's pretty simple.  Go indy, I hope we continue to schedule you.

How about this amendment to your proposal:

1. Yes

2. Yes

3. Only BYU to the mountain, drop SJSU and move Boise to the west.

4. Yes

5. Pay half in travel subs for all sports with no end date. Price to pay to join as a full member and only being available to host with a long flight.

6. A lot of outside economic influences can impact attendance, so I vote no on this for now seeing we will be dropping our biggest anchor with SJSU.

7. Yes

8. As first act of commish, all AD's and coaches must sign up and participate on the MWCboard. Resistance will be futile.

Hawaii goes independent in football and SJSU goes to the Big Sky.  Those two moves alone would make the conference better.  Then the conference sits patiently until solid options come along for expansion.  You know, when the Big 12 finally implodes and schools like Iowa State and Kansas are looking for a landing spot.

All we care about is having our own 3rd tier rights.  If Hair gives that to us he can stay or go as far as we're concerned.

I think schools could likely have their own tier 3 rights right now. But like Hawaii would have to give up conference tv revenue which is why schools are opting out of it.

we had an option to take part of conference revenue but pool tier 3 rights, or tier 3 rights but no revenue until the average MW school makes over $2.5m a year. It was a result of a “fairness” issue with other schools. Deemed “double dipping” which rose that concern.
