Best QB in the MW?

Recommended Posts

It's no secret the rep that Chapman seems have, warranted or not. This kid is the toughest/smartest QB we've had since Lindley, probably longer.

With Wyo's golden boy down and out and Rypien on track to be replaced by Cozart I ask the MW board. If Chapman isn't the best QB in the MW, who is?

Chapman imo is best QB in conference. Yes he has maybe the smallest role of all the QB’s but is so good in his role. Super accurate, inconsistent throwing deep ball but not terrible and he makes terrific decisions and doesn’t commit unnecessary penalties. I think he’s roughly a top 25-35 QB in country so this also says lot about leagues QB play. Rypien and Allen are clearly more talented

I remember Carr having a lower rating in this category heading into the draft. Some espn blowhards pointed towards it and stated he shouldn't be drafted in the first half of the draft because of it. Some tard even had him not getting drafted. Well, now we know how right they were.

No offense, and sure you're receivers aren't great, but Allen panics and compounds the issue with poor decision making. The whole reason Chapman can overcome his height and relatively average arm strength is by making good decisions in the clutch.

also, not like SDSU is even pulling in a top 3 wide receiver class in this conference the way we run the ball...

I think the key here is style of offense. QB's in pro sets using play action take a lot of hits. You have t be tough enough to take it and not panic or hurry your throws.   In the style you guys ran w/Carr and the volume of passes He threw you would probably get a skewed number, good or bad.

I was simply responding to your comment about our golden boy being down.  He's hitting our receivers right in the hands and they're dropping 'em.  Chapman's receivers are catching his passes, right?  That's all I'm saying.

Fales will get drafted before Carr.

Brown looked good on Saturday.  His first pick was totally on him.  The one in OT was tipped at the line.  But he was good.  I liked the Collie kid too.  What made him transfer from BYU where both of his younger brothers played.  Seems odd that he'd leave.

Allen gambles because he has no other choice but to if he's ever going to score some points. Chapman has a strong running game to rely on, an offensive line that pass protects, and receivers who get open.  One QB simply has to not make mistakes while the other has to try to make miracles happen. It's not a fair comparison no matter how much we discuss it.

Lol, is that all? So easy out of pro-set when you get hit every time you make a throw, especially with all of our 2 and 3 star receivers to help him.

I've watch 2 of Allen's games this year, kid is snake bit.

Don't mean to not give him any credit. He's executing the game plan. Doing what he's coached to do. Making the right decisions, getting the ball to the receivers, going through his reads, etc. He reminds me of a poor mans version of Kellen Moore. But you can't honestly say one QB is better than the other because they're in completely polar situations. Inconclusive...that's my assessment in the comparison.
