Hmm. The Beavers (for example) represent OSU. If I went there, aren't I part of the collective "we?" I'm just as much a Beaver as they are. It's my school too.

If I donate money to the athletic program, or buy tickets, funds which support the players training, etc., aren't I part of the collective "we?"

Players don't do it alone. There's plenty of "we" in a college athletic program. In fact, the successful programs make their fans feel as if they too are an important part of it and have a direct stake in winning and losing.

Whatever helps you sleep at night in the fantasy world where you obviously live.   Boise State defeated San Diego State yesterday in men's basketball and there was no "we" involved.  The only people responsible for that win were the players and coaches of the Boise State basketball team.  I'll let you get back to your pathetic delusional state - where you choose to reside.

What an odd post. Using "we" is common for any school's fanbase. It doesn't mean the poster thinks he or she has anything to do with the success of the program. But if you are a fan, and especially if you went to the school you're commenting about, there's nothing wrong with saying "we". If YOU don't like it, then don't use it.

Given how hard it is to win on the road in the MWC, I would say the fans are a big part of a programs success.  Outside of the homefield we provide the NIL money, the coaching salaries and general community support.

After winning two straight conference championships, and going 16-2 in the conference, I figured that people here would be able to acknowledge that San Diego State is the premier program in this conference. However, some people refuse to acknowledge that fact, point to the Mountain Division, say we have not won a big game etc. Well, our record against the "SEC Mountain" is just as good as it is against the "West," we now have three straight wins against Pac 12 opponents, and are truly the only program that is still on the rise. The strange thing is, we are very very young, and our best days are in front of us.

I really like this conference. It needs to get better. We have raised the bar, and you all need to follow suit. But for now, I think you all need to kneel and kiss the ring. Enjoy your Sunday.

For basketball?  Hopefully your squad saved some of that energy to actually win a meaningful non-con game.

I am actually rooting for Boise to finally do it.  And thank you for your long-standing interest in Aztec Athletics.

Oh, jeez.  Setting yourself up for an 0-10 thread.  That would be epic failure.

I have had my heart ripped out and stomped on so many times by Boise State basketball that it doesn’t even phase me anymore. I’m numb to the failure and the teasing from rival fans.
