2017 Tour De France Challenge - MWCboard Edition

Recommended Posts

The Tour De France is right around the corner and here is the contest:

The theme of the game will be: picking the closest winner of each stage. That means the person who picks the closest rider to 1st place of that stage will get the most points. If two different people picked that same rider then both people get the same amount of points depending on where that rider finishes for that stage.

8 participants for this challenge.

Posters may pick any cyclist they want on each stage, multiple people are allowed to pick the same cyclist on the same stage.

However, posters are only allowed to pick 1 individual rider to win a stage a maximum of 3 times for the whole competition.

Whoever accumulates the most points at the end of the Tour De France wins the challenge

Here is How I will allocate points in this competition:

pick that finished in 1st place out of all the picks of the stage: 40 points (+40 point bonus if you picked the winner of that stage)

pick that finished in 2nd place out of all the picks of the stage: 35 points

pick that finished in 3rd place out of all the picks of the stage: 30 points

pick that finished in 4th place out of all the picks of the stage: 25 points

pick that finished in 5th place out of all the picks of the stage: 20 points

pick that finished in 6th place out of all the picks of the stage: 15 points

pick that finished in 7th place out of all the picks of the stage: 10 points

pick that finished in 8th place out of all the picks of the stage: 5 points

Example rule explanation: If your rider finished in 3rd place, but the two posters in front of you both pick the closest finisher to 1st place of the stage, then the two posters tied for first both get 50 points and everyone else below moves up one position of points to collect. This same rule will apply to ties elsewhere in the standings of each stage. Again, points will be allocated based on where your rider that you picked for the stage finished in that particular stage.

If we have posters that end up tied for 1st place and/or 2nd place than the tiebreaker(s) will be this:

1. Who will win the 2017 Tour De France General Classification?

2. By how much time do you think the General classification winner will win by?
