Boise State recruiting 2018

Sounds like Kukea Emmsley is about to get a MASSIVE bump in the recruiting rankings from 247.

Kukea Emmsley -- The 6-foot-5, 230-pound edge rusher has stood out most among the local products on the Polynesian Bowl roster. Emmsley has great length and speed, and it's difficult to find someone with the same motor. He's been able to finish plays once he reaches the backfield. Emmsley has signed with Boise State.  We've seen enough from Emmsley from the Oakland Opening Regional (where he was DL MVP), his senior film and this week in practice to warrant a bump in the rankings and Emmsley will be a four-star on 247Sports.

He's currently ranked #87 OLB in their composite rankings. The lowest ranked 4* OLB in their composite rankings is #23. Not sure what that translates to in just the 247 non-composite rankings.

I was just getting ready to post that. That will be three 4**** this in this class so far (if you include Andrew VanBuren, who was a 4**** on scout before they were bought out).

Just barely outside of being a top-300 overall player. Depending on the last few signees, this should be the highest rated class they've signed.

The 2015 class is rated at .8361 as a whole, vs .8360 for 2018.  But depending on the last few signees, 2018 could edge out the 2015 class.  The 2015 class will be SRs or RS JRs in 2018, so it will be fun to see Harsin's first true recruiting class play as upperclassmen.

I guessing the last few will likely be lower rated players, so it probably won't be the highest rated class. I think there are seven guys in that '15 class that aren't on the team anymore. Boise lost a huge chunk from Harsin's first two classes. That's a big reason why this year's team was so young.

Boise just offered a 5***** WR. Seems strange. Complete flier it would seem.

I think he's a HS SO as he's listed as the class of 2020 on 24/7.

So it looks like February might be (based on 247):

QB Riley Smith (6'-5, 210) 0.8491

TE Brayden Willis (6'-4, 215) 0.8366

OT Brayden Shipp (6'-6, 315) 0.8098

OG Jake Parks (6'-4, 298) 0.8299

Anybody else on the radar?

Riley Smith seems like he is in the bag barring some unforseen push by a power school, but it seems that the staff is holding out for Purdy.

4* for Emmsley seems like a stretch TBH..It is what it is doe

He apparently killed it in drills/practices at the Poly Bowl.

Hopefully he is as billed. He is coming in at a postion that Boise has sent three straight players to the league as a 2nd rounder or better. That should contiue with Weaver. Hopefully Emmsley (a Bronco legacy, btw) continues that trend.

I hope it works out. He was on a loaded front Talented DLine unit for Kapolei with 3* All State Aaron Faumui and 3* Jr Treven Maae who just transferred to Gorman this semester

If Smith commits during his visit today, Purdy is off the radar.

Purdy posted on twitter that Zac Hill was at his house last night, so maybe we try to get both in case one flounders on signing day?

Niti Liu (6'-3, 275) DT and UCLA decommit had a visit with coaches as well and sounds like is waiting on an offer.

I'm thinking that they wanted to have someone at Purdy's house when Smith is asked to commit so they can play them off each other.  Mind games. I tell ya.
