maybe, if they get out of the 1st round. you may get another NIT bid at the most

Agree... the tourney toughness of WSU would rubb off on the rest of the MWC.  Eventually making it a 2-3 bid conference.

It's been so long since anyone has had success in basketball they forget that you get credits for each additional game too

Remember that every argument you have with someone on MWCboard is actually the continuation of a different argument they had with someone else also on MWCboard.

They would need to do major renovations to that thing

IMHO, Not for FCS play.  It's Top Drawer for FCS play, and plenty big to be able to even host a G5 team or 2 in their schedule.  How many MWC teams have an On Campus Stadium that seats 31k or more ???  Only about 1/2 ?

For joining MWC, sure would be nice to upgrade it further.  It's a very functional stadium for the next 5-10 years, and can certainly be upgraded in phases, whenever needed. The point is, WSU is in an enviable position (stadium wise) to re-start their Fball program.

When it comes to expansion it is all about football.  Oly sports just cost money.  WSU is too freaking far for Oly sports and shitty upstart football.  The correct decision was made.  Or do you like losing more money sending your women's softball team to the shithole called Kansas.

Joking or serious?   If serious.  What the hell are you talking about.

Have you ever heard of the Koch brothers? I'm sure they'll also help them in FB if there's a path to FBS, and there is. They ponied up and kept Marshall from bolting to Alabama, as an example.

Convert putting a team on the field is different then playing football at this level.  What are you thinking?

Wow, no shiit. If you want to know, then read the thread. They would play in FCS for a while and go FBS when they're showing success. This will happen over a period of many years, and then they'll jump to an FBS conf. They'll have plenty of money and support from greater Wichita.

He should've pushed for it. Even if it meant less money per member for a year or two.  The basketball credits would've more than made up for it plus it would've raised the prestige of the conference.

What basketball credits?  They'd stay with their current conference.  Adding WSU wouldn't change the MWC from the 1 bid conference it is.

This is the plan you endorse?   This helps MW football?  Convert wake up, this is a bad plan.  Saying No to them was the right thing to do for so many reasons.  No means No.  Don't forget that.

I would've done the deal.

When that initial thread came up I was completely on board with adding their crap football team in exchange for their basketball team. Chit, the MW has already been doing that with UNM and UNLV for decades. Give me Kansas, Indiana, and Duke while we're at it. At least they're bringing something to the table.
