UNLV hires search firm to find new AD

Recommended Posts

UNLV has hired Collegiate Sports Associates to conduct its search for a new athletic director.

The firm, which is based in West End, North Carolina, is run by former longtime athletic director Todd Turner, a high-profile name in searches who worked with some of the nation’s top programs.

UNLV will pay CSA $75,000 plus an office-support fee of $500 as well as any expenses directly related to the search. All such expenses, such as for travel and candidate background checks, must be approved in advance.

Yup.  It sure is.  I said it before that Jessup and Livengood have a relationship.  This sucks.

I hope you guys don't piss away that $75K like we did for our AD search.  We wound up with a former employee who had never been an AD.  What a joke.

Unless he went to work someplace else that is where he was...

Livengood is involved as an advisor with a couple of different consultant groups including collegiate sports.  Hopefully his input is marginalized.  If his AD recommendation is anywhere close to his coaching hires might as well keep Tina.

He blew it on Hauck, rice, and Vegas168.  His track record is not good imo.

He will take the lead on this if Jessup went through him to get this process started.

Absolutely.  His contract was not renewed at Arizona.  Apparently among other factors he and the President didn’t get along.

For all the discussion of Tina and the botched coaching hire last spring lets not forget how Livengood had almost a year to hire Lute’s replacement and what a mess he led.  Numerous big name coaches spurned him, and I’ve always been told it was Arizona boosters, particularly a local car dealer, who intervened and saved things from falling apart with Sean Miller.
