He's smarter than heck and always in the right spot but athletes just work over the top of him. If he's not going for 12-15 per game, he's a liability against good teams. He played Post better because most centers weren't as athletic as better PF's. As a 4 he's getting worked. Donut has definitely had a disappointing season. It's his worst year since his FR season and possibly even worst than that year, which was really his most efficient season. It'll be interesting to see what a stronger, quicker, more athletic (but still good size) can do out of that position. Nebeker is the only Leon recruit I can think of with Jardine's skillset, but unfortunately Joey just wasn't a D1 player.
Nevada Convert
So the only post season award donut is still in the running for is "Player most likely to have a heart attack"?

Not the only one. Smartest (student) award is his and he's nailed the 'best opposing fan salute on the road' for the 2016-17 season. He's raking in the hardware. kingpotato
Boise State verbal commit will be competing in a national slam dunk contest: http://usatodayhss.com/2017/12-all-americans-set-to-compete-in-american-family-insurance-slam-and-three-point-championships He's already won a couple West coast contests. Now if he just shows up. Late signing period is April 12th. Hopefully we'll know by then

It woulda been a bigger surprise if he ever showed up. There were rumors of him about not being able to qualify, he and his coach were fishing to anyone who would talk to them with no takers. I wish him luck. He is a talent, but I have a feeling it will never be realized.
jdgaucho
Gittens ultimately went the juco route and signed with UCSB in 2019. He's barely played (avg 6 mpg in 13 games) and has supposedly left the team. He's still listed on the roster though. https://ucsbgauchos.com/sports/m-baskbl/2019-20/bios/Gittens-Roberto?view=career&pos=sh
