Rank um

Agreed especially when the game was just played.  Would you rank EMU above Wyoming?

Haven't really kept track of them, but a loss is a loss. However, it is one game I know we wish we could do over. We were literally like a yard or two away from winning, but overly predictable play calling (since that game and Nebraska, it has gotten a lot better) cost it.

So that is a yes?  You would rank EMU above Wyoming?  Interesting.

12. Fresno State

The Spartans have moved out of the cellar with their huge home win over UNLV.

How awful do you have to be to lose to Ron Caragher Version 2016? Caragher has won a dozen or so skirmishes but here are his historical counterparts:

1. George McClellan (once defeated the equally inept Joseph E. Johnston but when Robert E. Lee entered the picture it was all over)

2. Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna (somehow eventually captured the Alamo at the loss of 600 Mexicans to 150 Texans)

3. Commander in Chief of Mussolini's army (eventually his tanks defeated the Ethiopians who were on horseback)

Boom goes the dynamite.

In terms of win-loss? Yes. It is a game we all wish we could have back. It was ugly, painful, cringy, and ultra-conservative play calling.

I'm not hyping them up, but the way SDSU fans (some of them) have hyped up South Alabama, you'd think they lost to the #1 team in the country.

Boise fan could say the same thing about their loss to you...

I wouldn't.  We've won every game since, and they haven't.  As of right now, I would rank Wyoming ahead.

It was a strange night.   EMU scored late to win after the Pokes had a chance to separate.    It was a 3 point loss on the road....so yes I would rank Wyoming ahead of them too.   If we played them right now, I would like our chances.

Depends on how you want to rank em.  Boise still has the best body of work in the conference by a good bit, SDSU and Wyoming are currently playing better football.

No, they don't. Wyoming had the best conference wins by a mile.

Hell based on the quality losses metric bsu>sdsu

Remember that every argument you have with someone on MWCboard is actually the continuation of a different argument they had with someone else also on MWCboard.

SJSU ranked directly behind two teams they beat? Spartans are pretty bad, but c'mon.

Relax, it's the map benders' vote. They can fold it all they want, doesn't change where things actually are...

The body of work is a season long thing.  Boise and Wyoming have very similar wins at home against the 24th and 25th ranked teams, Boise does not have a bad loss like Wyoming does and have played a tougher schedule.

Yes Boise's body of work this year is better than Wyoming's.  If somebody want's to rank teams on body of work it is not a slight against Wyoming.

Is this not conference rankings? Wyoming has much better conference wins than Boise, and SDSU, and by default everyone else. Hell we had the best conference wins before this week too.

It has always been ranking the teams in the conference, not ranking the teams on their performance in conference play only.  Sometimes the two are the same, sometimes they are not.

People have always done it differently.  Some rank them by body of work, some rank them by how they are playing right now (like my self) some by how they think things will finish.

Maybe UNLV's "body of work", which includes wins over Jacksonville State and Fresno State, and a loss to Idaho is too much for SJSU to overcome.

As halfmanhalfbronco said, it's based on a season of work. Therefore how good you guys are in comparison to SDSU and vice versa will be decided when we play at your house in a couple weeks and then when the two teams meet in the conference title game in December assuming we do.

Boise? They totally screwed the pooch. SDSU's loss at Mobile was terrible but Boise's loss at Laramie was even worse. Boise may still get to a good bowl game but they better not lose to Air Farce in their season finale or they could wind up playing some shitty G5 opponent.

Boom goes the dynamite.

I don't think it was worse.  They lost to a 6-2 Mountain West team.  That's got to be better than losing to a 4-4 Sun Belt team, doesn't it?  Maybe I'm misinterpreting, and you mean that Boise lost more than SDSU did (meaning a potential playoff spot)?
