Hawaii to the Pac-16

the thing that is not adding up for you is that the MTN did air on cable here in SD, even though it was not a CSN property.

Yep..just like CBSSN now, you had to pay into an additional cable tier to get it....I assumed he knew that though and was saying it wasn't offered below a pay tier. I thought in the MTn states they got it without having to pay...but I barely remember anymore.

The MTN was available in SD then about as well as the P12network is available is now. That is to say that in the LA market, the P12n is part of the basic cable package -- whereas in SD it requires an additional tier of service by subscription.

Unlike many small markets that have 1 maybe 2 cable providers (not satellite) San Diego has 3 (Cox, TWC  & at&t/U-Verse) this makes things a bit more difficult for small operations like the MTN to gain traction in SD. If SDSU were part of the P12 family, the moving of P12n from subscription based to the basic package would be much more likely -- thus gaining the P12 coffers $$ from every cable customer in San Diego not just on each subscriber willing to add the additional tier.

Come with us SDSU.  Package deal with Hawaii.

An affiliate PAC 12 relationship that gives us disproportionate home games and some attractive OCC basketball games would be an acceptable start.  No travel subs.  But somehow we need to get some guarantee TV money or an appearance fee.

From the MWC, we talked about what we need.  Esp you West Division conference mates will be negotiating their bargaining chip with P5.

The fact that he thinks Boise would ever stand a chance at making the PAC confirms he is clueless.

Good luck winning a game this year. LOL.

That's actually not too far off from my PAC16 scenarios. Except I have UNM in place of BSU. UNM CSU and UNLV in the South. It makes more sense for Hawaii to be in the North. The majority of your games would be on the west coast.

na, I rather have Boise St in the Pac-16 than New Mexico.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha! Yeah right! But you can convince yourself of that. If you had a little bit of a brain you would know New Mexico doesn't have a meth problem. Northern Tijuana on the other hand....

Wasn't your gun death rate like 40 or 50% above the national average just a few years ago? I've been to Abq, while on roadies w/ SDSU baseball team. It's every bit as bad as tv makes it out to be...

So you're using someone's opinion as your factual basis? Got it.

By the way the author grew up in the bad part of town, every city has them. She was obviously trying to stir the pot for some publicity.  I have family who lived in San Diego and they moved to Spring Valley to get away from the gang violence. Does that mean all of SD is gang ridden? No just the area.

I was in San Diego when the massacre at McDonalds happened, does that mean San Diego is full of mass murderers? I didn't and don't think so.

Now if you're going to say a border town of Mexico that is six times the size has less drugs then I know you're high and need to put the pipe down.

yep ... I will add that our games vs the P12 far outdraw our games vs any MWC team -- if we had an entire schedule of P12 teams, our attendance should be in excess of 50K per game.

Hawaii seems to be the biggest MWC draw for SDSU as the 2014 game drew 35,686, around 7,000 more fans than the next closest MWC home opponent that season. The 2012 UH/SDSU game drew over 50k(fireworks game) and would have likely drawn 40k without the promotion.

35,000-40,000 seems to be what SDSU would probably average if their entire schedule consisted of PAC-12 teams(i'm giving them a 5,000 fan change of conference bump).  They had 2 PAC-12 games since 2000 that exceeded 50,000.  One was week 1 with UCLA in 2005, while the other was probably on fireworks night.  I don't think a  bottom-dwelling Paul Wulff-coached Washington State team draws 57,000 on its own.  All the other PAC-12 matchups since 2000 drew between 30,000 and 35,000.
