Pressure mounting on WSU's Ernie Kent re:Izundu

Recommended Posts

Washington State's Ernie Kent has been playing hard-ball regarding starting center Valentine Izundu (a Skylar Spencer clone). Izundu is graduating this spring and has one year of eligibility left...he wants to transfer to SDSU. Kent is claiming "tampering" by SDSU. Ernie Kent needs to pull his head out...quit holding players future hostage and quit making unfounded allegations. Btw, this is Kent's third year at WSU and 9(!) players have transferred from his program already including all 5 recruits from his first class at WSU...something is not kosher in Pullman, Washington.

Different agencies are now getting involved on Izundu's behalf...and hopefully Kent will start to feel the heat and do the right thing.

"Finally we decided it's crazy that we can win games by throwing the ball without the best personnel. So we threw the hell out  of the ball and won some games. When we started doing that, we were like 55–5–1."

104 wins, 19 losses, 2 ties including 3 undefeated seasons: 1966, 1968, 1969     College Football Hall of Fame Inductee, 1999

Wow.  When all 5 of your recruits from the same class leave, you're doing something wrong.

The way Kent is playing this, it's going to hurt their recruiting. From the above article:

Quote

"One thing I’d like to start happening is to tap into the community of AAU coaches and let them know there is a red flag at a college that holds players hostage,” Huma said. “Because, you know, word spreads and that affects recruiting. The Achilles heel of unjust practices, I think, is trying to put on a good face for recruits while simultaneously harming the current players.”

As with most things in life, while the act of destruction itself may only be momentary, the damage and its lingering effects can last much, much longer.

I can't help but picture Ernie Kent sitting behind his desk in his shitty little office in Pullman, making little cuts in his arm as he reads the latest memo from one of his assistants about yet another transfer bailing his sinking program. He almost seems to enjoy acting against his (program's) own best interests.

If UNLV is a dumpster fire, Wazzu is a listing dumpster fire adrift at sea, taking on water and sinking fast.

So the kid just happened to be in San Diego and just happened to meet some random girl who just happened to have an extra couple of Aztec game tickets, and those Aztecs just happened to need a big man for next year?  But no way was any tampering going on.

Yeah, who the f*ck goes to San Diego on spring break? Aztecs are the hottest ticket in town during early spring. And the abundance of hotties on the Mesa who overflow onto the beaches and college bars are consistently considered to be among the hottest in the country.

Now, I could say something snarky about how UNLV grads are unable to add 1+1+1, but f*ck it... I'm too tired. It's 3, moron.

Yeah, who would want to go watch quality postseason tournament hoops hosted by one of the premier programs in the West Coast? I forgot that the concept of watching postseason quality hoops is foreign to most UNLV fans.

You're like an old dog who lays around all day scratching his nuts and licking his own ahole,  a little knock on the wall and you'll bark for hours as if someone's there.

Sweet, I'll get the peanut butter :P

I'm guessing you had probably already stuck your dick in the jar by the time you were picturing me scratching my nuts.

He actually booked his plane flight several weeks before our NIT game was announced.  As you may recall we had an opportunity to go to the NCAA tournament...After selection sunday shunned us, we quickly turned around and played our NIT game 3 days later.

Change is inevitable only growth is optional.

Dude, stop dropping shit like 'facts,' and 'context.' The assclown from UNLV is obviously not capable of critical thought, and experiencing cognitive dissonance could be injurious to his health.

As per the daily paper that covers the region, Izundu has been freed like Nelson Mandela ---> Link

That's great news for the young man...Interesting that UNLV and Fresno State will also get visits. Regardless of where he ends up, Ernie Kent finally did the right thing.

I think once the media helped pull off the blinders of his ego, he finally saw how badly he was about to eff up their recruiting (and likely his career) for the foreseeable future. It's things like this that bring balance to the force and the darksiders like Parrish who use their voice to prematurely publish sensationalist pieces for a momentary byline.
