Maybe 7 years ago bud. But they stuck around and took out their anger at homosexuals out on women.

If they're really lucky maybe they can get gay marriage banned again.

God, I hope not - one of many things I feel strongly about.

I dont know one conservative who believes that govt should regulate marriage...do you?.  I am sure there are a few out there....but fewer than many think.. This is a wedge issue that has been mostly been fabricated by the left for a minority...so they can call righties bigots..

Apparently you haven't been paying attention to the 21st Century GOP platform.

Texas is eager to revisit their sodomy law and hopefully have it reinstated.

It gives me a headache just trying to think down to your level

No. I've been told this isn't going to happen.

Planning is an exercise of power, and in a modern state much real power is suffused with boredom. The agents of planning are usually boring; the planning process is boring; the implementation of plans is always boring. In a democracy boredom works for bureaucracies and corporations as smell works for skunk. It keeps danger away. Power does not have to be exercised behind the scenes. It can be open. The audience is asleep. The modern world is forged amidst our inattention.

Remember that every argument you have with someone on MWCboard is actually the continuation of a different argument they had with someone else also on MWCboard.

Like a few years back when people on here were saying Roe was all but dead? Those Chicken Littles!

I used to shrug of predictions of right-wing authoritarianism and its dangers, too. It seems like just a safer bet to assume the worst nowadays.

Yeah. I took a trip down memory lane and saw a thread of bluerules talking about how a national split would mean living under "authoritarian blue city rule". The wild thing was at the time didn't seem so.. wildly improbable.

I'm sure Blues would still consider whatever is going on in Idaho 10 years from now "authoritarian blue city rule."

And he lives in Nevada, where, thankfully, it has already happened.
