UNLV recruiting

Dimitris delayed his announcement to 4pm PST.

As he's waiting these extra two hours he should take a look at this before deciding.....

Congratulations Rebels, great pickup.

#2 recruiting class in the MWC behind Boise St in 2020 in a reduced recruiting season.

#1 Recruiting class in MWC (top 50~ in country) for 2021

Unless he really likes Vegas and UNLV opens up their checkbook, Arroyo isn't gonna last long here. If we even have a season this year,I think he'll stick around for 3 years tops before getting a P5 job.

We can be in the P5 if we play our cards right.  It would be unlikely he’d leave at that point.

it's all about what kind of coach Arroyo wants to be. He's only 40 years old. Great coaches build programs up so they can move on to a P5  school, legendary coaches build programs into P5. Having a powerhouse college football team in Vegas would be fun as f*ck for any HC.

but lets just focus on having a season with a winning record first lol

Today UNLV added a JUCO WR Bryson Jackson, who was a highly recruited high school player but was injured at TCU and had surgery and sat out his only season there.

UNLV will now have three TCU transfers on the roster next season, all of whom were TCU freshmen together in the '18 class.

Not much has been written about Jackson's injury.  Out of high school his offers included Alabama, LSU, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, etc.... but this time around it was schools like UNLV and Utah St.

Started at TCU, blueshirted at Houston (wasn’t offered a scholarship), now at JUCO.  Overrated?

He suffered a serious injury in summer camp at TCU and has not played since.  That doesn't mean he was overrated prior to that.  But he may never reach the potential he once had.

Houston had 13 WRs on scholarship, including 4 sophomores ranked higher than he now would be and one about where he would be, so they chose not to gamble on his recovery.

It is on Arroyo and his staff to evaluate the severity of Jackson's injury and what his timeline and ceiling of recovery are.  They have now (reportedly, although I didn't see it reported) said that Justin Rogers is fully recovered, and hopefully Jackson will be also by the time he takes the field.

The 247Sports projections are now indicating that on Friday UNLV will add a second player to the '21 class from what we in Las Vegas refer to as "The First 8 Islands".  If he commits, that will make 6 defensive backs committed to the '21 class for the Rebels.
