Matthew Horne, listed by 247Sports as a three-star football player, tweeted Saturday he would play at UNLV.

Horne reportedly also received scholarship offers from UNR and Fresno State.

UNLV’s 2019 recruiting class

LB Kyle Beaudry, 6-1, 225, Liberty HS

ATH Sir Oliver Everett, 6-3, 175, Faith Lutheran HS

DB Austin Fiaseu, 6-0, 200, Liberty HS

Ath Matthew Horne, 6-2, 180, Elk Grove (Calif.) HS

WR Steve Jenkins, 5-11, 155, Narbonne HS (Harbor City, Calif.)

QB Travis Mumphrey Jr., 6-2, 185, John Ehret HS (Marrero, La.)

RB Courtney Reese, 5-9, 175, Southridge HS (Miami)

Every single one of those listed is a 3* recruit.. Not sure how many stick, but it's a good sign for UNLV program.  Never before has UNLV had 7 commits at this stage in the game, and never before have we even had 7 3* guys commit in a given year.  We are usually lucky to get 3 or 4 per class.  We now have 7 committed for NEXT year with lots of room to grow.  Safe to say, the seal is broken, recruiting wise.  I was at our 7v7 tourney about a month ago and recriuts were falling all over playing in the new stadium on the strip.  Oh wait, that's the death knell of UNLV football according to the morons on the MWC BOARD forum, I forgot.

UNLV added a "under the radar" TE from the Miami, Fla area today: Rahmod Smith, a tall WR/TE.

So far this is an unusual recruiting class for UNLV, both in the number of commits this early and in what recruiting territory they come from:

3 home town kids

2 California

2 Florida

1 Louisiana

Top 50 recruit Tyjon Lindsey is transferring from Nebraska.  He played High School in Vegas.

Being this is a UNLV recruiting thread you aren't thinking he would transfer here to this run the ball offensive minded program do you?  He might as well quit football.

Off topic here but why do most of these recruits all praise Jesus & God - Does God & the kid steer recruits to certain programs over others ?!?! :hmmm:

Seems 90% of recruits have some holy roller aspect to their decision & recruitment

Don't see it as much on the basketball side that I've noticed

this would be a big get, a lot of schools are after this kid.

UNLV putting together a monster class. Former SDSU commit Brandon Shivers is high on Rebs too. Landing those two would be a huge coup.
