business discrimination, nutjob Christians, and fabulous gays...

For the workers I would agree.

There are more customer hours in pretty much any store with that rule than employee hours. If it goes for employees it'd go double for customers.

Remember that every argument you have with someone on MWCboard is actually the continuation of a different argument they had with someone else also on MWCboard.

If I was morally opposed to doing work for gay people (I'm not btw, they pay on time and are willing to spend money even if they can be picky and dramatic).  But if I was, I'd just bid it ridiculously high, which would solve the problem.  The photographers and cake makers could do the same thing I would think.

What harm does it do if I walk into a fast food joint sans shirt. Granted I don't man scape my chest , but why should I ? My chest hairs are not going to fall in the next customers order. Do I see hairnets on every restaurant employee? Hell no.

Then why did you agree in the first place? Either you agree is for public health or it isn't.

That was a bad visual dawg.

Now I am going to be wondering if there is any greasy Italian dude's chest hair in my fettucine alfredo.

I don't think any of us would be very eager to eat out if we spent much time in a restraunt kitchen.

If a pattern of doing that was established in any significant number, I think that would open the door for a class action.

It's better if we don't think about it. Sorry 'bout the visual , just having some fun with happy camper.

Wouldn't be a problem on anything that is bid.  If it was a cake sitting in the display rack, then yah, you couldn't charge more if they are gay.  But anything you bid like photography or to make a special cake, they wouldn't be able to prove $hit.

I'll bid any damn number I want, if they don't like it they can have someone else do it.  I know I always charge wealthy housewives more, because they are a phucking pain in the ass.  Nothing better to do than stare at your work and find some flaw in it to bitchabout.

I'd rather have two gay men for a customer than some 35 year old trophy wife any day of the week.

Truth be told. We charge spring breakers more for rentals because they are a liability. Snowbirds get a break because they come in the winter( but they have their own litany of issues) many are comparable to what you said about sitting around and finding things to ++++ about.

I'm not a lawyer, but I'm not so sure. Especially if they have some sort of price list for similar cakes.

A pricelist could mess you up, that's true.

Anyway, you're missing my point.  If a photographer or baker doesn't want to do business with gay people, then all they have to do is make it difficult for gay people to do business with them, and they'll go somewhere else.  You don't need to tell some gay couple, "sorry, we don't serve your kind here".  Just give them shitty service and high prices instead of making a federal case out of it and they could get rid of them that way.

Both sides are being ridiculous.  If you are a gay couple why the hell do you want some dude opposed to gay marriage to take your wedding pictures?  And if you are a Christian photagrapher opposed to gay marriage then why get into the whole "I'm morally opposed to it" deal.  Just get rid of the customer if you don't want them.  It's not that hard to do.

That's true as well. But it seems that making a statement against the sin is a motivating factor.

Here is another old school reference for you guys.

"We reserve the right to refuse service "

Does that still have any legs?

I agree, which is why I'm having a hard time bleeding for the business owners.
