The fan isn't being excused, but athletes shouldn't hold themselves to the standard of stupid fans. I don't think Smart is a monster or anything, but you need to know when to walk away

I'd have no issue with Texas Tech do anything within their power to punish the fan like a ban for example (assuming he actually said something obnoxious), but other than that what should be done to the fan? Players can't go after fans, that's fairly simple

Wait a minute- we're paying police officers to arrest or cite people for crimes. If this event took place in full view of sworn PO's,, tell me, where's the real waste in tax dollars? IMO, if this was to happen, it would be a very, very long time before we saw this happen again. Footage of being led away on handcuffs in uniform is not good for a resume...

I just think it's lucky that nothing happened during the court storm. This could have been way worse. He should have been ejected and sent to locker room right away
