Yellow Evan
Assuming Dave Rice is the coach again next year, how much do you want to bet? Depends on OOC schedule. I'd say 17-18 wins max next year. If there is a mass exodus, possibly 10. Quote 7 hours ago, ph90702 said: If you’re such a UNLV fan, why did you go elsewhere? Yellow Evan
You're already making excuses. It's obvious that you're not confident. You're the one using the young excuse for this year. I'm not confident because I have no idea what our roster will look like. Quote 7 hours ago, ph90702 said: If you’re such a UNLV fan, why did you go elsewhere? HoosierRebel
Assuming Dave Rice is the coach again next year, how much do you want to bet? You're awful quick to ask people what they want to wager on how bad the team will be next year. What are you willing to bet the team will actually finish in the top 2 of the MWC next year? LACASEY
Anybody that thinks Dave Rice will turn this around next or any other year must have some serious mental problems. Question to all of you, what is UNLV going to gain by bringing Dave Rice back next season ? Saving few dollars or perhaps not even that if attendance drops as it will is the only reason I can think of.

Rebaholic
Honestly, it's too painful to read all of that again Rebaholic, but I get what you're saying. It is especially irking for me to hear the same people who were talking crazy back then when Rice was hired (Final Fours here we come!!) to now act like our fanbase is so spoiled to expect us to do well anymore, and we are so far removed from the glory years that we should be happy with Rice and the results he has brought (which completely and totally doesn't match his own goals nor theirs when he was brought in). But hey we won over 20 games the first 3 years!!! What really is going to matter, though, is the opinion of those who are big $ boosters. As I said a few weeks ago, unfortunately, some boosters see Rice almost as if he is their son, and now we are all seeing why thats not a good thing. Rice goes way back with them... hey, we all know how most parents react to someone criticizing their children. The ones I know, that's them in a nutshell, as we speak. Let's hope others are seeing the light and do the right thing for the program. I hope so too. I have lost confidence in the program as a whole. The lack of a coherent direction and the side the has dug themselves into the trenches for Dave rice really worries me.

Yellow Evan
Rice. There will be a mass exodus if he's fired. I think they'll be a bigger mass exodus if he is fired than if he's not. Ppl say oh how's there's a mass exodus when the coach leaves. But Dave Rice has a mass exodus after every season, and in the players eyes, they are no longer with Rice. HoosierRebel
Tell me who is transferring? Losing guys to the NBA doesn't count. Wood is gone. You can't blame that on Rice because he'll be a first round pick, but we're still losing a ton of our scoring and rebounding when he leaves. I wouldn't be surprised if Dantley leaves either. I don't think that will really hurt, but it is still another player leaving. Kendall already left. Cornish might leave, but I also wouldn't really be surprised if he stays. I don't really have a read in his situation. Vaughn might also leave as well, and if he does leave I think that is a knock on Rice. He is a fringe first round pick and if he leaves (especially after Khem and Roscoe left knowing they wouldn't get drafted) that means Rice's players don't have confidence in him. The only guy I feel really confident will be back next year is McCaw, and maybe Morgan.

I think that Wood and Vaughn are gone, however. I also think that Justin Jackson will reclassify to 2015 as a result. They mentioned him with the seniors at the last Findlay Prep game. mundyc3
McCaw, Morgan, Goodluck will be back for sure. With Vaughn's injury, I believe Cornish is much happier with his role and will be convinced to stay. Vaughn leaving would hurt bad since at this point I don't think he'll be drafted in even the top of the second round with the injury and all. Walker doesn't matter too much, he is just not college size. Seagers, Carter, Cook back in with Poyser and Jones. Honestly if I were Cook, I might transfer only because how many minutes are here for him.
