MWC attendance to date

Recommended Posts

Per game averages.  Attendance taken from the ESPN box score, don't hurt me.

1  Fresno State 36248.25

2. Boise State 35140.25

3. San Diego State 32573.25

4. Air Force 32514.25

5. Hawaii 31177.75

6. Colorado State 29823

7. Nevada 26839.5

8. Utah State 25513

9. New Mexico 24859.5

10. Wyoming 22231.75

11.UNLV 18425.75

12. San Jose State 13264

Kinda ironic that Utah State is selling out but is still only #8.  Also, I gave the Rams credit for the RMS.

Nevada will drop like a rock against San Jose, I'm afraid.

yeah, Nevada, and SDSU will drop this week.  USU is staying put. The rest of the home teams should all increase though. AF plays a rival, UNLV might actually break 30k after the Nevada win, Fresno is guaranteed a 41031 sellout this week, and CSU is likely to benefit from Boise State's traveling well.

Explain to me how UNM is going to drop if they play away.......the numbers are averages, not total attendance for the season!

I'm surprised it took so long tbh.  Also figured it would be an SJSU fan that did it.

No, USU fan has grabbed the banner from Nevada Convert.

I think SDSU is going to drop after Saturday but will shoot back up again when Boise comes to town.

Typo.  I meant SDSU.

Yeah, not only does Boise travel well but they're a recognized brand and people that won't show for UNM will be there for Boise. Plus SDSU should win Saturday.

I'll be your weekly fish on this subject.... lol

How is this ironic? These are just raw numbers that don't tell us anything without some sort of context. They are certainly not a refelction of the support given by a fan base if that is what is being implied. Every week these are posted and then we get these follow up posts patting Hawaii and SDSU on the back for supposed great attendance numbers. If we're going to talk about attendance, then lets talk about how well each school/community is attending their respective venues - not just say look at these numbers.

Yay! Hawaii is filling 62% of its stadium with a county population of 976,000 people to draw from. Better yet, SDSU is filling 46% of its stadium with a county population of 3.17M people to draw from. By comparison SJSU is filling 44% of its stadium in a county of 1.8M people to draw from and UNLV is filing 46% in a county of 2.0M.

If SDSU was filling 100% of its stadium, we wouldn't be in this conference.

So these same numbers would be more impressive if each teams stadium was a little smaller?

Don't you know we can't sell tickets for seats that are covered by tarp. We've got to be closer to 80 something percent.

Not that attendance smack is my thing but that stadium looked absolutely empty on TV the other night,
