All I can say is that a long time admin at San Diego State (in the athletic dept) told me that San Diego State has already had some talks with the Big 12 and that he would be very surprised if the Aztecs were not in the Big 12 two years from now. Probably along with UNLV.

Hey, don't shoot the messenger and no, I don't give up my sources.

I bleed for you that's why I cut those simple scars are just deep thoughts.

If a consensus among message board posters and bloggers means anything [ ], I don't see the Big East taking teams presently in C-USA. I think it's a fair bet that 'Nova will get its football together. In the unlikely event that the conference moves past 10 in a few years (according to what seems to be a developing consensus), the BE may very well invite a MAC team (Buffalo or even Temple) or perhaps UMass.

Those guys think that the B1G's wandering eye is satisfied for the next few years at least, and that the ACC isn't interested in moving beyond 12.

My personal opinion is that the SEC is happy where it is, membership-wise, as is the Longhorn League. Notre Dame is pretty well set up for at least the next few years.

There's no one available that the MWC needs or wants, and no MWC team is presently a need for an existing AQ conference.

ESPN is becoming so entrenched that any conference that wants to expand must tiptoe around the problem of the network's reaction, in the event that anyone "damages" an ESPN property by taking teams out.

My bet (without putting a dime of my money on it  ), is that we have a few years at least of conference stability.

I kinda agree unless the MWC gets AQ status. Who knows what knee jerk reaction this could cause. I would think that the Big Least and ACC would feel a threat and might try something. I could easily see the ACC sniping the Big least.

I think the mwc is going to be just fine. Boise fills Thea Utah and tcu role just fine. And sdsu, if long can kept the momentum going could be really good. I think Fresno and Nevada will improve with a step up in league. Hawaii seems to be having some success. Air force will always be atleast a 7-8 win team with their coach.

If you could add an smuggled and Houston I could see bcs down the road.

There. Are teams with potential here.

SDSU to replace the Chargers in SD

Funny you should mention that because two things that are becoming more and more apparent are that a new football stadium is going to be built near Staples Center but the Chargers and the city of SD are never going to get a new stadium deal done. Put two and two together and you have a benefit to SDSU.

You can always tell which guys really haven't been paying close attention. They'll be the ones predicting the Big East will be interested in East Carolina, that with regard to expansion geography means more than a school's potential for increased TV ratings and football recruits, etc.

As to what you yourself say above, chatter on the Barfboard or AztecMesa really doesn't mean anything. If the Big-12 decides to expand by two, it's a foregone conclusion they will offer BYU so the only question is who else and at this point in time the answer could be AFA, Boise, UNM, SDSU or probably two or three other possibilities based on how well our football teams are doing in wins and attendance when the time comes.

I'll believe it when they break ground. Roski's not going to sit idly by and let that happen. Lawsuits are imminent IMHO.

Big Least West conference.

Cinci / Lousiville.

TCU / SMU

BSU/BYU

I always thought that Boise in the Big Least was crazy, but when looking at the distance. Boise to Louisville = 1878. one trip to the east coast a year, worst case NewYork = 2469.

Boise to Hawaii, 3073 miles every other year. When you look at it like that it's not really that big of a deal.

I am happy in the MWC though. We are going to get AQ.

I like the idea of being able to drive to away games or hour flights. One big reason why I was dissapointed that BYU and Utah left.

My personal choice to the Big 12 would be the Aztecs/Fresno State instead of Aztecs/UNLV.

The talks are happening but they are in the real early stages and not enough real chatter to say it will happend for sure. The Big 12 does want a piece of Socal though and the Aztecs are the logical choice to make that happen.

Steve, I would love for this to happen, it'd be awesome for our school... but forgive me if I don't hold my breath.

CSUSD/Fresno State to the Big XII would be welcomed, but we both have to step up if that's gonna happen anytime soon. PAC 12 will always be highly unlikely because we're "State" schools. Unless the Asses..my bad, Asstecs or the Bulldogs become California State University or just Cal State, then an invite to the PAC is just a pipe dream.

Agreed. B)

My girlfriend watches that horrible Project Runway show. This season of Project Runway features a contestant who is the former Miss Trinidad & Tobago, but had to give up her crown after a tape was released of her having a three-way with her boyfriend and Miss Japan.

I've seen the sex tape and I gotta tell you, I can't watch Project Runway any more unless I have a box of tampons.
