UC-Davis gets the first opportunity for any FCS football according to its Olympic sports entrance terms.
Headbutt
Take this for what it’s worth, but I spoke to a guy who claims to have close ties to NDSU admin. Including some family association. According to him, NDSU is very comfortable owning the FCS, and the stated position from the top of the ladder is that they have zero interest in jumping through the hoops to go FBS. The inability to expand the Fargodome without tearing it down and starting from scratch is among the biggest of those hoops. “That’s not the only hurdle though” according to him. ACCORDING TO HIM. He and I will have the opportunity to speak more at another time, but he was pretty adamant. Just what I’m told.

Given all the movement in the last 5 years, it would seem there were plenty of chances for a school to move up if they chose. AAC, MWC, CUSA, MAC, and Sun Belt all have lost and added teams. I never thought they were serious, no different than the Montanas. They all have a good thing going and solid fan bases that seem to be quite happy playing FCS football. Nothing wrong with that.
lakesbison
DOH K headbutt. its ok if you don't want NDSU to move up. we get it. the MWC doesnt want NDSU owning that conference Day 1. the AD/Asst AD would be the ONLY 2 that want to hold NDSU back, because then they'd have to actually work instead of riding Kansas State's AD's coattails in gene taylor and these 2 just wanna milk another 5-6 years until retirement the President (KU guy) the Coach (WYO guy) and Asst coaches as well as the Booster President and NIL fundraisers ALL WANT FBS ASAP the Boosters want FBS, the FANBASE wants FBS............ They HAVE TO GO.
