It was more than that. I was there. It was a good game but I agree, those estimates by Lakesbison are hugely exaggerated.  That game was before the fabulous run so Wyo might not be the best measure.  Just examine NDSU attendance at the past FBS games.  The exaggeration is a matter of record.

dont worry Wyoming now that #NDSUWEST coaches left you we won’t even give you the time of day 

If Ndsu to the NWC were to happen Wyoming would be a good rivalry game for The Bison. The Gophers could emerge as a good OOC rival as well.  I sure liked the stadium at Wyo.  but the Bison game was not a sell-out by any means. Because of the run and NDSUs increasing fan interest there will be a lot more fans of all kinds at the next one.

Ndsu fans at Colorado this year 15,000 in the picture below 

ndsu fans at Arizona 2 years ago 25,000

NDSU will show up w fans is the point. That helps MWC especially in bowl games

 

plus another aspect overlooked. IF MWC WANTS THAT G5 CFP autobid NDSU helps achieve that

No you’re the one acting out because a terrible cowboy team in front of a sparse home crowd got by a D2 team in transition 15 years ago or something.  Let it go.  It was a good game.  The cowboys were equally matched with a very good D2 team.  Enjoy the memory of the win. You guys played like it was your Super Bowl, the best game of the year, haven’t answered a call from NDSU ever since and hired their head coach!  lol

NDSU football is head and shoulders above Wyoming and most of the MWC to be honest, that's why its been delayed for years, presidents and ADs and head coaches just dont want NDSU beating them.   I guess I don't blame them.

Wyoming won with NDSU's coaching staff,.....  this conference needs a little Spice.  lets go... hurry up and call the press conference!

The MW would want your football to be really good and aren't afraid to play you.  Football is your calling card. Why else would you ever be invited.

Minneapolis is a HUGE basketball recruiting hotbed, NDSU would be fire on the court,

It will be football only, if it happens.  The MW has 9 olympic sports schools already and all are in the footprint.  Easy travel for the non revenue sports.

There may be more news coming from Fargo with Brett McMurphy appearing on a local Fargo sports talk show tomorrow.  
 

this is a few days ago, may have already been posted, but in this interview McMurphy speaks favorably of an NDSU invite, the need to get it done quickly and why it’s necessary to call up an FCS team with NDSU being the best of the lot.
