lakesbison
NDSU said to be a Football-Only add. NDSU should negotiate an All-Sports invite, NDSU wants to catapult themselves a major regional university! Minnesota/Wisconsin/NDSU across the top of the country! NDSU will help your national rankings! you won’t believe how fun crazy wild BisoNation fans are, we will easily replace Boise State 191-16 record in last 10+ years 9 FCS titles 9 FBS wins (lost by 4 to Colo this year) NDSU has a good alumni base in the west! Fargo to Denver/Vegas flights are easy 3
LoboMan59
If an all member add, what sports does NDSU offer? Too lazy to google as I’m traveling, lol. WAC_FAN
They fit the MWC all-sports profile pretty good actually. The main issue is that they are historically bad in men's basketball, the main non-football sport that matters.
lakesbison
NDSU would get a new Basketball coach day 1 of invite NDSU does have 2 NCAA big dance wins , beat #12 Oklahoma in 2015 NDSU has been to 5 Big Dances in 14 years

Douglaspoke
I would be in favor of the 4 schools: NDSU, SDSU and Montana 2x. Let's face it--the MWC in 2026 is a regional conference-mid tier G6 conference. Thank you Gloria N!!! I wonder what basic conflict of interest you and the P2 comish had in realizing one of you could lose a cushy commish job. You lost she won! mags
I heard they were offered. If not it’s a mistake. NDSU brings North Dakota, Minnesota, South Dakota and Montana as much as any of the so called major market schools the MWC has looked at bring their major markets. NDSU @ Gophers will be huge for the MWC. Scheduling with the Summit league could eventually lead to an all sports membership. NDSU changes the footprint of the MWC but it’s for the better. mags
A new report in the Fargo forum indicates NDSU isn’t even interested and nothing has happened. Not a bad stance if you don’t want to rock the boat in the MVFC or Summit league if they are negotiating full membership. Unfortunately, over the years there has been very little interest from the NDSU admin over FBS football.
SanDiegoPoke
As long as we don't subsidize their entry to FBS, I have no problem with NDSU.
agswin
From an outsider's perspective from Utah, NDSU fits the MWC rather well, if they can muster whatever exit/entrance fees are required by the conferences and any fees associated with their move to FBS without subsidies from league programs/partners. I still have a bad taste in my mouth from the days when Hair negotiated special carveout for BSU (Body Shop University) at a time that they barely felt like a Junior College attached to a Fine Football Program. That felt like a lousy deal at the time and the memories of it feel like an exceptionally lousy deal to this day!

415hawaiiboy
The MW is a Southwestern conference. The Bison fits the PAC-12 well. I would go north if it was the Chicago MSA. Otherwise stay SW.
lakesbison
NDSU will only take MWC or PAC 12 invite. There is a lot more alumni in the west for NDSU. plus they want to keep their games on Saturdays (so mac CUSA sunbelt are not an option and quite frankly is below NDSU) 1 aspect no one is talking about is NDSUs fanbase, they will follow this team anywhere. a bowl game will easily bring 25,000-30,000 NDSU fans . UNLV WYOMING AIR FORCE games will always have 7,500-10,000 NDSU fans or more
