MWC TX
Post Chris Vannini @ChrisVannini Barnes also said the new Pac-12 has signed a “long-term” grant of rights to stick together. They’ll release the details soon. That will probably deter AAC schools from signing like Memphis.

And it’s stupid to sign a GOR when there’s no media deal.
RebelRobert
UNLV said no for this very reason. Long term commitment. UNLV will sign when it makes sense for us to do so, not when it makes sense for you.
thedude15
Long term means nothing. They need to say the the number of years. Also EVERY single Pac-6 team "dream" is to grab one of the last Big-12 spots (I am guessing SEC/Big-10/Big-12 all end up with 20 schools a piece). Sure the odds any of them get a spot is low but they all have that common goal. So I kinda imagine they are not gonna lock themselves out of that possibility. Many conferences that sign truly long term GOR at least half the schools have no hope/dream of jumping up conferences (ie the ACC) or they are already a top conference. BoiseStateOfMind
"Longterm" is a vague weasel word, especially in today's college sports. As long as we're not repeating the ACC's mistakes, it shouldn't be that big a deal.
roughrider
Ya, let's see the details of the GOR which could be largely symbolic with escapes like 'unless the ACC loses 2 or more schools', etc. I know it's only RR but if UNLV is that slow on the uptake then so be it. That 9th spot will be taken soon enough.

Go ahead clowns. 2
I Am Not Gary Busey
I don't see Memphis joining. That's insane. All western schools......and Memphis! Can you imagine recruiting for that. Oregon State and Washington State were left for dead by 100+ year old conference partners for a reason, they are dumb as dirt and worthless. You have four clowns from the MWC who agrees to join these turds without reading the fine print first or negotiating the price.one of these idiots has blue football turf, puke. Now these bottom of barrel schools want to add Memphis or USF or Tulane. Wow Keep us as far away as possible please. 1

I'd rather play Washington State, Oregon State, Boise, CSU, SDSU, etc over playing UAB, Charlotte, Temple, Tulsa, FAU, etc. far better competition IMHO.
UofMTigers
If I were the Pac-12 I'd make my next moves in this order: 1) add Memphis and Tulane [that's 8] 2) then add UNLV and Air Force football only [that's 10] 3) then add Rice and either UNT or UTSA [IF you want to go to 12] 4) then add either UNT or UTSA and Hawai'i football only [IF you want to go to 14] why the PAC-12 doesn't seem more serious about UNLV and AFA is beyond me...

TV. CW is looking east for schools to fill the Eastern/Central time slots for game day. They already have the ACC in the fold, so I’m not sure how far east but Tulane and Memphis fit the bill. 1 1

I know no one who wants USF or F'ing Tulsa, btw.
