Re: Pac 12. I'm devastated for UNLV. We don't deserve this.

Not exactly, these moves were all about bringing in markets for a TV deal. Denver, Fresno, San Diego and Boise. Though Boise is more of a brand that they are inviting. Now they will probably look to Texas for central time zone options and big markets.

It's about TV markets but it's also about quality across the board. UNLV doesn't bring much of that to the table. It's sad but true.

Makes me think it's a mountain timezone play and closer travel in grabbing some teams from the East?  Also, having better academics might be a draw for Cal, Stanford and SMU if/when the ACC falls apart and teams are looking for a place to land.  That's all I got as to why CSU over UNLV?

^^^^

That's the first time I've ever read something that mentioned "better academics" and they were referring to Boise and Fresno.

I doubt the next two will be from the MWC. If you are trying to rebrand the P12. The worst thing you can do is have 6 of the 8 schools be from the MWC. It's basically MWC 2.0

Your administration is the reason why our basketball league is bleeding out currently. If you didn't insist on San Jose being in the MWC, so you guys would have someone that votes similar to SDSU, every team in the MWC wouldn't have to play 2 games vs. a team with a 330 RPI ranking EVERY season.

You guys are as stupid as you are desperate.   - Cowboy Junky

The PAC probably won’t add more MWC schools, if they wanted to they would have. They had the money to invite 6 schools, per the dumb commissioner Gloria.

It’s obvious that the PAC is now looking east, and probably going to poach some AAC schools, in turn the AAC invites Air Force, UNM, USU, and UNLV.

This conference is toast.

I'm thinking it will go something like... Memphis, Tulane, UTSA, and UNLV.  There is an outside shot they could convince Gonzaga to join but likely not.

I just think this is step one and UNLV will be added in the 2nd or 3rd phase

When the Airport Meeting was held to create the MWC, UNLV gave the group credibility with a Power Basketball program that was less than a decade removed from a Natty.

So the betrayal of Colorado State and San Diego State, and to a lesser extent Boise State and Fresno State, hits pretty hard, especially as UNLV has now gotten Football on track.

We've been bastardized.

I always felt the MWC was pretty safe in realignme

I always felt the MWC was pretty safe in realignment. I just don't see what the four Judases are gaining by joining a conference of TWO. Why not make them join US, and then do the reverse merger - if getting the patch was so important to you? You're paying way too much money to do something you should be getting PAID for.

I feel so bad for mugtang. Can he get the board back? I have family that went to Nevada and getting their MWC bid was their crowning achievement. Now it feels like we are being demoted together.

One thing is for sure, Gloria Nevarez is going to get every last dime we are owed, Every last dime.

Does Washington State really want Gonzaga?

there is not a chance in hell they would go after north Texas state instead of Rice and Tulane

YOU WANT TRADITION? WELL......HERE 'TIS......The University of North Texas has football wins over: Texas Tech U......Rice U......Baylor U......TCU......SMU......Houston......Oklahoma State......San Diego St.......Kansas State......Arizona State.......Colorado State......Brigham Young......Oregon State......Florida......Indiana......Tennessee (a 6 & 5 SEC team & still our biggest win in school history)......Boise State......Louisville......Cincinatti (our last match-up with UC was a UNT bowl win), plus FOUR (4) NCAA FBS level Bowl Games (one while having a losing season record) in this millennium's 1'st decade while North Texas has had ONE NCAA Division 1 Top 20 ranking.

The North Texas Mean Green Village (located between 2 Texas interstates & which a recent TxDOT study said 200,000 vehicles drive by it daily) is a multi-acre olympic style village of athletc venues*dorms*computer study centers, etc, topped off with what GIL BRANDT: The Father of Modern NFL Scouting who described UNT's Apogee Stadium as a "Tah Mahal of a College Football Stadium" with Brandt adding... 'and I've seen every NCAA D1 FB stadium in the USA." All this along with UNT's fabulous 10,000 seat Super Pit--the Best & Largest on-campus college basketball venue in the D-FW Metroplex......AND THREE PONDS AND A BRIDGE!!!!!

Not a matter of who they’d go after, but a matter of who’d say yes.  MWC’s media deal ends after next year, there’s uncertainty there.  The schools you mentioned are in a stable conference with a media partner that will play ball; Tulane is a long shot.  Rice maybe less so only due to still being in the introductory period, if they’re offered full share immediately there’s no way they’re going to the PAC.

UNLV will get their chance at the lateral move, stop crying and pouting.  Why they weren't included in the first push, who knows, but you will make it and head there soon!  🤣

This all won't matter in 5 - 10 years anyway, so act accordingly.
