A big nail in the MWC conference message board death

I have had three active alts on this MWC board over the past 12 years with plenty of lively fun give-and-takes over thousands of threads.  Sadly one of the big nails in the MWC coffin is driven by a couple of our no-op brain-dead drunk-with-power admins.  Post something contrary to their the world-is-flat prospective and their response is vicious ad hominem attacks.  For example: You are a racist.  Jeffkills: thank you for keeping this board on life-support.  You deserve better.  

That said nothing would be sweeter than a Bronco victory over the hated Oregon Ducks.  Go Broncos!

Trauma to the body of this board may be too extensive that the body cannot repair itself. Looking pretty close to being stage 4.

Funny when the people that caused the damage have already moved on without a second thought.  Our buddy HMHB has a near clean kill. This place needs Chemo starting at the top. 

I don't even know why I'm posting this. Probably habit but I'm in a 12 step program now.

I've been mostly a lurker on this board for over a decade.  I always came here for the latest news and speculation.  It is sad to see how quiet it has gotten over here.....

as someone that hasn't been paying much attention to sports in general, coming back for Football season was wondering why it felt so much less busy than usual in here...

don't mind having to split attention between multiple boards as it seems this place and the new place has done. But sort of liked when all the MW talk was just in here. It is what it is though.

My interest in college sports took a nosedive this summer after ncaa decisions. College football as a whole is dead. Going back to the NFL after 15 years. I used to love the NFL and hate college football.

That changed at some point. College had more passion, more grit and the rivalries were amazing and entertaining. That is all going to go away with nfl lite.

Did you see the Notre Dame Game and the way N Illinois and their coach celebrated that win. College football is still special.

It wouldn't be hard to get this place going again. It needs new management, and that means a new owner, and mods that are fair, reasonable, and keep their own personal poltics out of moderation. HappyTrump was the worst. When that happens, this place will pick up once the word spreads. Jeff needs to realize that nothing is going to change until he sells. 

The numbers at this moment:

MWC Board: 4 members, + 152 guests = 156 online
WCS Board: 24 members + 42 guests =  66 online
 

Jeff bought himself a database of sports info. that generate consistent traffic just on Google searches, alone.  If no member ever visited this site again, he's still going to make SOME money on searches. How many ads these searches generate on the site compared to members using the site, I have no idea. But there's almost certainly going to be less. I'm sure the money is obviously in members clicking around the site for a while vs. single searches. Right now, the only money Jeff is making is almost entirely on the searches. I'm sure he was hoping FB season would pick up the site, but it's not looking good.

That's what happens when the owner/operator neglects their business. Most left because he let his certificate expire.

This site is still worth a lot. More than the WCS.

People are coming to the board today in a desperate search for information.  Minus the Boise, Fresno and SDSU fanbases, traffic will make this summer look busy

I don't know how the MWC Board operates. Are there ways users can increase counts with little effort? For example, if board members leaves a page displayed when not actually viewing it, does that raise the counts? If a guest does? It's not much effort to have multiple pages viewed.

I’m not up to speed on how sites get paid these days. But you’re going to get “Unique Visitors” and “Page Views” or “Site Views”. Unique Visitors is self explanatory. Site hits/views are counted every time a new page is viewed. So 1 unique visitor could click around and create a lot of site views/clicks/page views….. whatever you want to call it.
