PAC 2 & MWC FB do not reach agreement for 2025 games

Recommended Posts

If they could rebuild the PAC 12 they would.  Why wait? There’s no benefit to sitting in purgatory like this, if/when the ACC falls having a functioning PAC would only make adding back schools/expanding easier compared to waiting until then to try to create a new league.

I suspect the actual reason the PAC hasn’t rebranded/rebuilt yet is because there’s no media partner buying what they’re selling at the moment.  No media deal = no conference.

As I mentioned 5x already, rebuilding the PAC-12 by cherry picking MWC schools will cost money.  That money is needed by the PAC-2 schools to survive purgatory/G5/independence at their still high budgets, or survive buying into the ACC or Big 12.

They don’t have money for both options.

If they want to do a full merger (not want but decide it’s the best way to get playoff access) then they are still on track for 2026.

A one year agreement that expires in 4 months is not a media deal.

It's not a "media" deal? Are the CW/Fox not paying OSU/WSU money for the right to televise their home football games to a nationwide audience? Sounds to me that's the exact definition of what a media deal is.

It certainly will be renewed for next year. Probably at a higher rate, given the success of the agreement so far. At which point, the Pac-2 will have (another) media agreement that pays its members more than the current MWC deal pays its members.

I'd be perfectly happy merging with the MWC. I don't see any other viable alternative. I just call out BS when I read it, which happens often when I read content from our UCF friend.

A media deal is a media deal, no matter its duration. To claim otherwise is BS to the max.

I see your predictions and analysis are still as useless and incorrect as always.

What do you mean? They ended up doing exactly what I said they should do in the quote you posted.  Your judgement is clouded and apparently you have a really short memory if you think my predictions are incorrect.
