Air Force Falcon Stadium

Recommended Posts

Multi-million dollar Stadium upgrade on the east side of Falcon stadium will be complete for opening day. Premium seating, convention area and more plus overall renovations in the stadium. First pic shows old east side with temporary bleachers second pick shows Eastside from my seats on the 50-yard line. Nice light show for our evening games with new lighting throughout the stadium. Will be an interesting year. Go Falcons

Much needed, those home games last year with the traffic and renovation were painful as all hell.

Welcome to USAFA. Tale of 2 cities....

Best parking anywhere, close to the stadium and free.

Worst in and out (unless you come early and leave late) as a limfac of being on a military installation with only 2 gates = 2 points of entry. A traffic funneling nightmare.

I still want to attend a game there. I need to prioritize it once the nephew graduates High School.

It’s great, go to a game where they play a rival academy. Lots of pageantry and pregame air show alone is worth it.

Looks great. Some of the coldest games I’ve ever been to were at AF in November. So those inside seats will be great for early winter. I’ve been to two games there where it was about 18 Deg., wind blowing about 25 to 30 mph while hard rock ice pelt snow was just beating you in the face. Wind chill about zero.

It can seriously get cold in our Falcon Stadium. Sometimes it's so cold it remind you of a summer day in Laramie Wyoming..

Looks like they lost some seating (numbers) - but not much.  The internet says it holds 39,441 or 46,692 or all the way up to 56,409.  What is the real number (not the SDSU attendance math number)?  I can't say I have ever seen > 45k in that stadium, but I have only been there maybe a dozen times.

It was 46,000 I do believe the new number will be closer to 39,000. I do remember the biggest sellout ever was when we played Oklahoma here. Oklahoma fans bought season tickets to ensure they had a seat plus those season tickets were cheaper than one ticket in good seating in Norman. It was a sea of red my understanding was that high number you saw posted somewhere was standing room only

I forget what game it was on ESPN back in the day, it was a primetime game and I want to say it was against Wyoming or BYU. Certainly a rival, It was cold, weather was shitty but the atmosphere was crazy. Took an hour or so to leave because there isn’t enough exits.

My only issue then was the bathrooms, incredibly outdated. It was like a step back into the 50s or something. So it’s great to see Falcon Stadium get some TLC and modernization projects.

Agree on the bathrooms, it was like just pissing on the ground in the east side stands.  LMAO.  That is all in the past though.

Ya laugh about it, but is there any faster way to avoid lines of beer drinking guy/male (yep, I'm going there) football fans than pissing on a wall urinal? So smart and under appreciated and now 'updated/modernized'. Enjoy missing that TD run at the start of the 2nd half while you are wating in line out the door waiting to piss.

PS. Even funnier Google has a photo of the bathroom "before demolition".Screenshot_20240814_135727_Google.jpg.de0ceae84e35898cb20d28b4b57928fd.jpg

Wonder if Nevada has improved their bathroom situation. Back in 2005 when I visited everyone was pissing in the bushes because the port a potty line was ridiculous.

Good question - I even went last year, but attendance had to be < 8,000 (at most).  I guess I don't remember because the beer lines were non-existent!

No clue what you're talking about. Been going there since 1973 as a cadet, active duty and season ticket holder for 30 plus years and never had a drop of urine on my shoes unless it was my own. You must have had too many beers or your buddy was next to to!! SMH in wonder???

Shoulder to Shoulder pissing, creates piss on the shoes.  And yes, likely too many beers as well.
