I'm not ready to give up on the MWCB just yet. I'm going to give @Jeffkills a chance to improve the situation. There's still time for him to make a change, but not much.

He is taking some good steps.

He needs to ban the posters that were using his board, his software, his messaging system to recruit people away from the product he owns.  That is outrageous, just horrible form.  They should be offered no more use of this platform to harm him and his product maliciously.

He should offer to pay Retro for an 8 hour course on how to run it or offer him an ownership stake to just do all the things.

What positive actions is he currently taking? He still has the supposed traitors serving as moderators. He has not yet offered anyone the opportunity to take over a 50% ownership stake, allowing him to step back and observe the board's growth. Presently, the board is declining at a slow pace.

the real tragedy that ALOT of long-time yet sporadic posters of MWCboard over the years probably just assumed this board died, all the posters went their separate ways never to be seen again (unbeknownst to them that a bastardized version of it exists elsewhere that's 90% pontificating political discussion)

Jeff fugged some stuff up, but mug and the rest WCOUPboard crew def have some blood on their hands for doing some irreparable harm to our nearly 30 year old internet community here. Shame!

Even before the cert issue the ads made this board unusable, we were all screaming for an ad free option to deaf ears. Jeff fcked @retrofade and this board, sell it and we’ll happily come back.

I’m not stealing from you.  I rebranded the PAC-12 board to something else. That’s not stealing. But ok Jeff.  I transferred the domain & license for the PAC-12Board to WCSBoard. Again not stealing. I never gave up ownership of the pac-12board. It wasn’t included in the sale.  And if I, more than 3 years after I sold this forum to you, decide to rebrand my other forum I’m well within my legal right to do so.

He wanted to let the PAC board die.  He had no ideas of trying resurrect it, or creating a competitor to here.   He was asked by several people to please make sure there was a place we could discuss this football season when this board was down, and did so reluctantly (dude is married and has no want of all this and he is not making shit).

I say this as your friend who cares about you and your wellbeing.  If you were to give Retro or Mug, or anybody who is so competent at running these boards an ownership stake, or a promised % of board revenue, they would r un this place for you.  You can't do it.  You can not run this place and have not shown the ability to be able to learn how.  I say that, and I love ya.

This board is not tenable as it is currently set up, and that is on you.  Not Mug.  Not Retro.

Everyone knows the Pac12 board fell apart and was a ghost town, then gets rebranded as a generic west coast college sports or something lame, the links get thrown around and private messages sent to recruit members over there.

People fell for the scare tactics and how this forum was imminently going to be gone. Jeff is probably owed some apologies and we should just move on.

To me - you are walking a fine legal line with public allegations like that.  While I certainly know nothing of your private deal to purchase this domain, I see nothing on the surface to support your allegations that Mug’s operation of a separate message board is ‘illegal’ and that he is ‘stealing’ from you.  
 

In any event, public legal threats are not the way to go in my view and dont sit well with me and my desire to use this board.

The browser has full control. An administrator has no was of influencing the html code. There is nothing Jeff can do to prevent ads on your device.

There are two ways a user of a browser can control ads. the user can disable javascript or attach an
add-on to the browser. There are many browser add-ons on the internet. Some are free. Others say they are free, but the user gives something for it.

You can thank Google for the ads.
