It wasn’t weeks. This issue was overblown and some decided to poach members by saying the board is going to be dead, spamming this board with links and that we better head over to the traitor board.

Correct, I usually don’t post in the “offseason” so there’s that. My post was more referring to the high school gossip nature of some.  I mean who cares? 
 

Look, Jeffkills  owned up to his mistakes. I didn’t understand the certificate business but that’s done and over with now. He doesn’t affect me personally one way or another.
 

Whether he did cocaine or not, I don’t care. He missed a car payment, I don’t care. He ran for office and was a laughing stock, I don’t care. The smear campaign is designed to get people to the traitor board, that’s all.

Jeff is a good guy and I consider him a friend.

The issue is that Retro was consistently paying out of his own pocket to keep the board running, in addition to a shit ton of hours "fixing" things that shouldn't have to be fixed, including fixing the add revenue for Jeff, even

Retro had real life things happen which means he can no longer keep this place running singlehandedly for no compensation.  He stopped moderating the backboard as well.

He doesn't need to do that with Mug as mug is a message board pro and knows how the technical ins and outs.

Jeff will need to hire somebody to keep thus board running, or learn to himself.

There was an offer made to Jeff by myself and 5 others including Retro, Mug and top 25 to buy the board back from him for a significant profit.  There was also an offer for him to give the board to Retro to take ownership of, while Jeff collects all revenue for 3 years, which would have amounted to well more than he paid, without him having to ever lift another finger.

Sometimes there is more to the story.  Migrating to the new board was a last resort

Thanks for keeping us informed. I hope he considers bringing in someone as a partner or sharing half of the ownership. If you're not sure how to manage the board and you're losing people to a competitor, it might be time to consider making some changes.

He’s already owned up to the mistakes, and this conversation is getting redundant. I’m not sure if the offers were genuine or not, some were openly citing and linking his court cases and other allegations. Seemed like a coordinated smear campaign, when the same people make the same accusations.

rosegreen he has not owned up to his mistakes. he's made mistake after mistake after mistake, hassling moderators after waking hours, making other people clean up his shit. it has been exhausting for years dealing with jeff.

mwcboard isn't a url. it's a community. and jeff's personal issues put the ability to even post in jeopardy. not in the past, but for all foreseeable time. I am tired of that. enough of the community migrated to wcsboard that, for me, that's mwcboard. i don't care what I have to type into the browser to get there and i really don't care who the owner is as long as the board is stable. personal loyalty to the worst owner in a motely line of "great, engaged" and "very disengaged, hands off" owners who largely let the community evolve organically doesn't make sense to me.

Well, I was the one who deleted EVERY single post about Jeff and his personal life I saw.  Every one.  I know I probably missed some and after I left moderating and posting I could not stop it.

I agree the attacks on him personally were...gross.  

However, the craz behind the scenes stuff was...just that, crazy.  For years Retro has been keeping this board running by himself, and attempting to get reimbursement was very difficult for him.  He simply no longer had the bandwidth.

He was the onlything that kept this place going.  When he tapped out, during the cert issue, saying no more I can't continue to pay out of pocket and work for free, and this board was still down, they decided to create a new home.

Jeff has simply not shown the ability to run the board.  He could have learned the IT and advertising in and outs on youtube....he didn't 

The offers were real offers.  He could have turned a 3k profit 2 years ago, or disinvested himself from the work while collecting 12-15 grand revenue minimum which is well over what he paid.

I GREATLY prefer a MWC only board.  And hope this place can recover.
