2024 Boise State vs. Oregon game

Recommended Posts

I saw the other day where the Boise State @ Oregon football game is going to be televised ONLY on the (NBC) Peacock streaming channel.  So for Boise State fans like myself it looks like I will have to pay $5.99 to subscribe to that streaming TV channel for one month (with advertisements) OR pay $11.99 for the same one month without the advertisements.  I think it's worth it to pay the $11.99 myself.

The biggest drawback to doing this - as far as I can tell - is there is no way to record the game as they do not allow recording.  So if you want to watch that game you had better pony up the $6 or $12 bucks.

Peacock does have good programing. On the cheap. Especially a lot of older shows. Monk, Sanford and Son, Alfred Hitchcock, Kolchak, Colombo, Perry Mason, etal.

Also, they carry many recent movie releases like Oppenheimer.

I bought it a couple years ago just to see the Tour De France and discovered I liked their programming and pricing. So much so, that I dropped Hulu.

Yeah, I saw that, and I'm assuming that's with the commercials - right?

It's hard to tell.  It mentions something about PremiumPlus but not sure if you get the plan for that promo.

For sporting events, there will be commercials.

I pay for the low end package. The more popular prime time shiws do have commercials. The reruns and less popular shows usually have commercials at the start of the show. Not during the show. And, if they do, they typically last one minute or less.

You can record it if you stream to a computer.  There's free software that allows you to do that.

It's not the money, it's the principle.  It's another service to pay for and set up and when you start adding  all the little fees to watch the games you want to watch, it starts to add up.

It's better than the old days of pay per view but I get his annoyance.

Just go to a bar then, problem solved.

I’m sure the SUB will have it on if he lives near campus.

No thanks - A. I don't go to bars and B. I prefer to watch football games with AUDIO.  C.  I don't live in Boise (anymore).

I just went ahead and paid the $19.95 for a year's subscription this morning.  That's 12 months of service for less than $20.  That's like $1.66 per MONTH.

After that one year subscription the price goes up to $59.95 (according to what I read while signing up for my subscription this morning) but that's less than $5 per month.  Big whoop.   Lots of fools spend more than that for ONE cup of coffee at Starbucks.

That's going to be a rough start time for us eastern time folks. It'll wrap up after 1:30 a.m.

Hopefully we’re all blackout drunk when it’s 45-0 in the second quarter.

I recently canceled Peacock after my $20 deal from last year expired.   The ads were not too annoying.   I got my $20s worth.

I might even sign up again for $20 for a year.   It is a reasonable value at that price.

Bye Bye, Best of luck! !! May the MWC survive, and prosper

I started off by binge-watching a TV series I have wanted to watch but had not had access to previously (Resident Alien) and from what I observed of that series the commercial breaks are 1 minute (or intro commercials of about 15 seconds).   But they "seem" to be increasing in the number of commercials per episode to the point where it seems like there's a commercial break every 3 minutes.

I'm fairly certain the 20 dollar deal is a one time only thing.   If you re-subscribe it will be at the $60 price.

Maybe Boise's bag man can pay off NBCUniversal and have the game moved to NBC, since they saved money on Eric McAlister.

It gives me a headache just trying to think down to your level
