I'd go for speed weeks only and never step foot in the big track. Give me a good dirt track race any day. I ran dirt track stock cars for 20 years. One win lol. Most of the guys I raced against had more money in their engines than I had in my whole car. Quote People, not a fan.

I was a left rear tire changer for my buddies spec truck team. Even racing at the local track is expensive. Go carts too.

That's when the trucks only raced on tracks 1 mile or shorter and all pit stops were under yellow. 1 Quote People, not a fan.

It's one if my favorite tracks. Motorhome City is a blast.

They ran USAC midget and Silver Crown cars along with ISMA Super modifieds. 2 Quote People, not a fan.

They never should have torn it down. Idaho Falls has some good dirt tracks from what I understand. Will have to check it out. Jimmy is just getting older. He went to the same high school as I did, but I'm a lot older than he is. I was also a desert rat like many from El Cajon are. Kyle Larson can drive just about anything. Geebus, you're an Eagle as well? Class of "80" here

AztecAlien
Who's attempting to watch 1,100 miles of racing today? So far, the weather is not cooperating for the first 500 miles. I think NASCAR needs to move the 600 to Monday on the holiday weekend from here on out.
retrofade
It looks like Kyle Larson won't be able to pull off the double. He's gonna stay at the 500 regardless, though, but the timing doesn't look like it'll work out for him to race the 600 in Charlotte tonight. I'm guessing Hendrick and Gordon convinced NASCAR to give him a waiver for the playoffs since he's already qualified with wins. They've given them to guys who were suspended for a race, so I can't imagine them not doing it for one of the best racers in the world trying to compete in one of the most famous races in the world. retrofade
I mostly follow NASCAR, and even then I don't watch many of the races, and if I do, I just have them on in the background. I have a friend who keeps trying to get me to watch F1, which I guess is becoming super popular here in the States now.
AztecAlien
Weather is supposed to move out of the Indianapolis area around 2:30-3 pm EST. Then comes the long track drying attempts. I would rather see Kyle Larson attempt the Indy 500 because of what he's already done. We already know what he can do in NASCAR. It would suck to have to wait another year. Move the 600 to Monday Memorial day in the future.
AztecAlien
Ran some hot laps on my natural grass track with my 22 horsepower rocket during the 500 rain delay. I qualified 7th.
packNV
Indy is not a great place to watch a race. I've seen road course and oval races, both Indy and NASCAR. t's a spectacular facility, it's just hard to watch the racing.

Yeah, it seems like it's more about the experience for a lot of people that go. Big crash to start the race off, at least two cars are done for the day. Haven't turned the sprinklers on yet. It's been a wet spring. Last year as well. Plenty of water where I live. This area has been at or above normal precipitation, something like 7 out of the last 8 years.

AztecAlien
Ryan Hunter-Rhey nearly took Kyle Larson out. What was he thinking trying to pass halfway in the grass. My Husqvarna could have pulled it off though.
