That's more OTA games than they were getting in the P12.

P12 network to produce all the games.  I wonder if the Pac2 will be in the red?

Every Oregon State game in recent memory has been broadcast on some over the air network.

Must be a memory issue.  Last year you had 4 - 9/23 on Fox (WSU), 10/14 on Fox (UCLA), 11/18 on ABC (Wash), and 11/24 on Fox (Oregon).  The rest were on cable.  In 2022 there was 1 (Oregon).  Nobody has all their games on an OTA.

They cut all the fat off that network the last 2-3 years including highly overpaid execs.

Whatever they have now is probably a bare bones operation to just produce raw coverage for CW.

In 2023, they barely had studio shows for both basketball and football. They played that show over and over for two days just to fill tv slot holes.

I don’t know what the numbers of the P2 look like but I don’t think the P12 network ( whatever is left) is the money pit it used to be.

The P12 Network will cease to exist as of June.  What is rising from the ashes is Pac 12 Enterprises, a production company (think Raycom).  Their initial focus will be production all of OSU/WSU broadcasted games.  Not just football, but everything else being made available to ESPN/ESPN+ via the WCC media deal.  But they also be attempting to monetize their facilities by contracting with other sporting events.  With the upheaval in the RSNs recently, there could be a market for 3rd party production.  Properly done, it could end up being a profit center for the 2 schools (and whoever may end up joining them).

Sorry, your terminology confused me. Every OSU game in recent memory has been on linear TV and available on OTA (over the air), not only via streaming.

And the San Jose State game last year was on CBS. Not CBSSN, CBS.

Well it better not be a money pit anymore. IMHO, they should completely gut the network, and the Pac-2 offices like now. The P12 network itself should quit with any of the BS filler, and just go dark when they aren't televising an actual live game.

And to the TV schedule, I see we are competing with OSU for the 12:30 (coveted) vs &-7:30 (shit time) games on Oct 19 and Nov. 9. I can predict who gets screwed when decision time comes 12 days before the games. All this after the Pac-2 blathered on about the great CW partnership and all the "daytime" games we were going to get. Yeah right. This TBD shit is as bad or worse than we had as the Pac-12.

Edit - oh and I just realized that the SJSU game, in addition to being on at 7PM, will be played on Friday. Another previous subject of scorn in my WSU camp given our many out of town fans and the disruption to classes on campus.

OTA is the networks - in the Pac 12's case that would have been Fox and ABC  This year its Fox and CW.  Linear is OTA plus cable.

And that was an MWC game., not a Pac 12 game.  Sorry, but you dont get credit for that.

As far as the previous P12 framework goes, the plan was always to go dark. If the P2 can find a use for those assets, great. Smart move.

The Pac 12 network is dead.  Converting those assets to just focusing on producing sporting events will be a very smart move.  Doing it for CW now, but can definitely be an enticing part of upcoming media negotiations with a streaming entity.  Yes, the network was mismanaged.  The infrastructure however still has a lot of potential.

I’ve seen a lot of misinformed info on this board about the P12 Network. Everyone can agree the business model failed.

But as a P12 Homer, there was nothing better as a fan. At its peak, a lot of great content. Specific shows and programs dedicated to each team. Behind the scenes etc.  It was free for me already in my sports pack. Regional and local coverage. P12 Mountain Etc. Never missed a Ute game before streaming was huge. At the end, the network was available on FUBO and other platforms.

It was never meant to be a national drawing channel. Whoever really wanted it, could get it. After failures with Directv.

I now have to get ESPN+. Not a huge deal or cost but the specific, detailed conference coverage no longer exists.

And I agree, as mentioned 3 times now, using those assets would be on the cheap for HD production.

Show me the money.  Still no details released on the contract.  I'll judge when I see the paychecks.

What? You don’t believe Canzano’s claim of $5-9 mill per school? lol.

We know this guy is an ace when it comes to correct numbers. 😅

There's a big difference between 5 and 9, especially when you're talking millions.

$9 million is a kick in the nuts for a recent P5 member, but not terrible for two schools trying to remain somewhat relevant.

$5 million is a fking joke if your claiming your going to be the seminal influence in creating a new power conference.

I'd like to know what the CW is actually paying.

Yep. The last 4 years have been full of false claims, click bait twitter rangers, and arm chair QB’s telling us shitty numbers.

Best to wait.
