Them leaving has nothing to do with Linder’s late departure for an assistant job.  They are leaving because they were upset that the High Altitude Performance Center is eliminating the pizza station.

Wick is at UW-Green Bay. Different due at BGSU. Green Bay to Wyoming is a promotion, Horizon League to MWC. MAC to MSWC is a lateral move (IMHO).

Wicks would be a home run hire given the circumstances.  Few other D1 head coaches, if any, would be willing to consider Wyoming at this point in the year.  Wicks is a good dude, would energize the donor base and is absolutely a players coach.

He took a 3-29 Wisconsin-Green Bay team and turned them into 18-14.  Some concern might be on recruiting ability and connections; but there is no way he could be worse than Linder in that arena.

I’d guess he would retain DeWeese and Vandiver.  They seemed to have good rapport.  But that’s pure speculation on my part.  
 

I also wouldn’t be surprised if Agbim and Ihenacho re-commit if Wicks is hired and he retains DeWeese and Vandiver.

Linder actually recruited well. He just couldn’t hold onto the guys he recruited.

I would imagine that university Wisconsin Green Bay fans look at wicks like we do Linder. I’m sure they see it as a dick move on his part. All this moving around is killing the sport. With that said, welcome to Laramie Sundance!

There’s one thing that you mentioned, and unless it’s fixed, it doesn’t matter who you hire, even if they’re a good coach. NIL. Lack of NIL simply means you will always suck until addressed. If your NIL is weak, you’re going to have weak coaching candidates. No one wants to take a job where they’re set up for failure.

That’s what weak NIL gives you. If Linder had some cash to throw around, it would’ve helped.
