You forgot Converts Mom. Fits at at least 20,000

I have no problem with mom jokes, but they only offend me if they’re lazy and not funny. You can do better. Ironically, you’re closing in on 20,000 posts, and I’ll be pulling for you to make your first good one.

By the way, you never answered me on this. Your profile pic looks like dog chow train tracks heading down to hell and it’s supposed to be The Tedford Train heading that way. Is that referring to you going to hell, Coach Tedford going to hell, Fresno Football going to hell, or all of you going to hell? It’s really weird and makes no sense.

It actually looks like something the SJSU fans would come up with to troll you. Please let me know whenever you have a chance.

Is this list correct? That’s what I see.

1. Thomas & Mack Arena: 19,500

2. T Mobile Arena: 18,000

3. MGM Grand Arena: 17,000

4. Michelob - Mandalay Bay Arena: 12,000

5. Orleans Arena: 9,500

6. Dollar Loan Center (Lee’s): 6,000

7. South Point Arena: 4,600

The list is correct with these few notes

1) T&M never had a 19,500 capacity unless the floor was used for a concert or boxing where seats could be added - Initial seating was 18,500 when built, but remodels over the years have cut in to 17,00-17,500

2) MGM Grand Garden might get 17,000 if the floor is used for seating, I think its in the 15,000-16,000 range for a BB game

6) DLC now Lee's Family Forum is more in the 5,500 seat capacity for hockey , maybe 5,700-5,900 for the Volley Ball team -- And this will be the new home of the NLL LV Desert Dogs

7) South Point Arena is mainly for equestrian events & doesn't do much in the way of traditional sports

There is talk of a new 18K+ NBA arena to be built on vacant land adjacent to I-15 / LV Blvd South / Blue Diamond / Warm Springs - this might be the home of the expansion NBA team

Then there's the AAA LV Aviators baseball stadium and the USL LV Lights play at old Cahsman Field which has been slightly modified for soccer -- This is where the LV Vipers of the XFL/UFL played for a season or two

I think I remember reading seated capacity at T&M is right at 18k after remodel but I don't have any facts to back that up.  Just my 2 cents of memory and gossip.

T-Mobile always "feels" significantly bigger than the TM to me. I guess T-Mobile upper deck doesn't have the same capacity as T&M if I think about the blank area at the one end and extra suites, and that one lounge in the corner.

If one is old enough (this geezer is) to remember when the T&M opened the last two/three rows of the upper deck were bench seats ......then those were removed for individual seats which might have cut capacity a few seats ..........but the remodels for the IHL Thunder to fit an ice surface in took more seats (even then the ice was about 5-10ft short of regulation taking the space out of the middle of the ice) .........then came the ADA type upgrades and eventually the T&M went from 18,500 down to the 17,500 maybe 18,000 seat range

I noticed Rebel BB games this season has some of the lower deck seats pushed back to free up floor space for some reason ?!?!

The NBA said they will start looking at expansion once the new media deal is in place which is probably around mid 2024.  Is Vegas going to just build a new house no matter what or wait until there is more concrete info on selected cities? I'd build right now if the funds are there. I read something that Shaq and or LeBron James are looking to be owners in Vegas. Shaq likely wouldn't be partners, he said he wants it all to himself.

Btw, not many people here probably remember how bad ass Seattle was as an NBA franchise.  The Kemp/Payton teams were very good and battled very good Jazz teams back then.  Malone vs Kemp and Payton vs Stockton.

The Northwest feels empty with just Portland. And that team has been ran into the ground.

With the number of events & things that come thru Vegas...........a new NBA caliber arena could be useful, especially if LV does land an NBA expansion team..........T-Mobile might have trouble scheduling NHL & NBA 41 + games then host some WNBA, UFC & other events

Some of the older less modern arean's could suffer like the Orleans Arena -- It's a U shaped set up with no seating on one end. About the only thing it hosts that I know of are the WCC & WAC BB tournaments and maybe some high school state playoff games -- I'm sure it does some concerts and some other events but it's probably showing it's age

THis first link give you a good look at the arena interior

I think as long as the NBA knows a new arena is coming, they won't be too upset with short term digs.  T Mobile might be too busy but one tourney that will no longer be there is the P12 Tourney.

If the NBA lands in LV before a new arena is ready, then T-Mobile would work with some scheduling & could always use the T&M which has hosted NBA in the past as an emergency option - The development isn't just the arena, it's a full blown hotel/casino/arena/with entertainment district

Go big or go home. The firepower of Vegas to build things never ceases to amaze me.  Vegas has about 45 towers above 400 feet mostly all built in the last 20 years. I'm not sure many places in the world can rival that to be honest.

Las Vegas is the epitome of rational water usage

Sin City bet on water-saving measures. Their success should serve as a model for water conservation worldwide.

Between 2002 and 2022, in response to the “megadrought” affecting nearby Lake Mead, southern Nevada reduced its overall water use by 26% even as the population grew by 750,000 people. Innovations and programs by the government of Nevada need to be exported to mitigate water loss in both rural and urban regions globally.
