Why would they have still left? None of our players are getting picked up by great programs.  Personally, it appears to me they are going to much worse conferences and programs (Radford and Drake).  My gut says pretty much none of them leave if we have a better program culture and a decent head coach.

If the reason is they don’t like Laramie, then why have we pretty much kept the football team intact with very minimal transfers?

I think they would have left still. Most of the guys that have transferred out have subsequently transferred from their new schools. Williams, X, Odom, and Reynolds come to mind. Football across the board seems to have less transfers than hoops.

Cam was a walk-on who had been the Colorado 4A Player of the Year. He attended the Air Force Prep School for a year before deciding to come to CSU. On paper it’s not really a big loss but I’ll miss him because he’s a really good kid. Hope he lands at a local school like Northern Colorado so that I can see him play.

Actually I spent the past 4 years sitting behind Linder at games listening to him and watching how he interacts with folks and treats players.  I am not renewing next season however if you’re interested in the seats. You might even have the place to yourself!  I guess you support the direction Linder has taken the program and the million plus or so he is paid per year.

Thankfully - the football program is something to look forward to.

Season ticket holder here of over twenty-five years, football and basketball (18 years for the Cowgirls).  I can honestly say I have never bought tickets for the coach.  I go to games to support the student athletes that have chosen to come play for my school.

Tough for me right now with all the movement in the portal, but we will be back in our seats next season rooting on whoever is wearing the Brown and Gold.

Could it be he didn’t get the NIL offers he expected or USU bumped theirs?

Insiders said he had higher NIL from others but decided to stay.  Sounds like he got a solid amount to stay but not as much as what he could have gotten if he left.  That is a big get to have Mason stay.  He has a lot of upside. Nice to have the local players stay it builds excitement with fans to see them develop.

It would be interesting to see the reaction if the fans banded together and said enough is enough, you take us for granted, and boycotted all college and pro sports for a year. Even a 25% boycott would get a reaction.

Those that are on season ticket waiting lists would simply replace those who leave.

True and those boycotts if done to MWC teams would be screwing the victims of the rich getting richer rules and not the creators/benefactors.

The money schools' fans would never boycott.  They love the entirety of the new rules.

The "boycott" is already happening though not on a planned scale....In the words of Jerry Seinfeld, "I'm souring" on College Athletics........

Any good signees by MWC schools yet?

I'm monitoring incoming and outgoing players. So far only Falslev returning to Utah State and Sanders signing with Nevada are the only incoming players.

Damn, maybe buried on the depth chart at WR for Boise wouldn’t be so bad. (He said switching to BSU football may be a possibility)
