guys, you have to remember that the NIL $$ isn't just coming from "boosters".

a lot of the big money is coming from legitimate business endorsement opportunities; just like professionals.

because he's an UK citizen, his agent may have taken advantage of that and sold his rights to UK companies

I don’t care what he endorses, it’s not going to be worth paying him $2M for.

Do you honestly think 1000 people in all of the soccer and rugby crazed UK know who Osobor is?

I don't know, just pointing out that the big $$ is coming from big business endorsements, a la Sanders at Colorado. And maybe Osobor is in a unique position because of nationality.

didn't Kaitlyn Clark collect big from Gatorade?

Caitlin Clark is worth every penny of her NIL which was estimated at $3M this past season at Iowa. Ads with national brands like Gatorade,State Farm, and Xfinity. They can label Osobor’s $2m as NIL but it’s really Pay for Play. You cant convince me that he has any value to a major brand as an ambassador. Put him on a Gatorade commercial and no one in England will have a clue who he is; the people they use over there are stars like Leo Messi and Serena William.

I said I don't know but it seems to me like there must be something more to it. The only time I watched GO this year was against Nevada and he was very pedestrian, 11 and 4. Can't imagine why anyone would give him $2 million pay for play.

I do wonder how much Tyler Harris is getting; that sob can play!

It's wild. He's probably going to be an 11 and 7 guy in the Big 10. Nice to have, at that price, it's crazy.

What are you talking about? Alford’s contract tops out at a hair under $2 mil per year.

Simple really, I'm talking about the top programs in the MWC.   And I forgot about Nevada.  My bad.

This one is intriguing. Super athletic and long, good defender, was a top 3 recruit out of Canada in 2023. His production hasn't matched his raw ability yet. It will be interesting to see what Pitino can get out of him. Fills a definite need of a long athletic wing.

You beat me to it. Absolutely no one in the UK knows squat about NCAA basketball.

Well, you probably could have said the same about Serbia or Australia 10 or so years ago. Not anymore.

The British Basketball League is growing in popularity, and basketball is the second most played sport in England - behind you-know-what. That is bound to result in more British college players in the states in future years.

You could say the same thing about this country.  Put Great Osobor in a Gatorade commercial right now and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't know who he was out of context (would have to be told who he was).

I mean, Donovan McNabb's mom is way more recognizable.  This all goes back to the point that it is about pay for play and the sponsorship angle is BS.

Wyoming incoming freshman Dylan Warlick announces he will open up his recruitment.  Basically a whole team to fill for next year.

Holy cow, Sundance really has his work cut out for him next year. There are still a lot of decent players in the portal so he could come up with a competitive team.
