That's one of the only unexpected big time transfers to leave either the football or basketball team. They've largely avoided that attrition. Sucks, they were stacked for the coming season. roughrider
Kidding about Aztecs, that would suck if they were the poachers. But he's supposedly gotten at least one offer in the half mil range.

Im guessing he’s already got something lined up in the 500K range which is too rich for any MWC program. Maybe Arizona or USC.

They will never compete at that level. 2 Quote "We don't have evidence but, we have lot's of theories." Americans Mayor

I would never have guessed the Broncos could come up with the $400k to keep Jeanty either. Someone with deep pockets can decide it's time. It's so far out of out BBall NIL that I'm pretty sure it will never get there for us in hoops but football is the marquee program here. Like hoops is on the Mesa for you guys. Kind of off topic, but does that $400k come with any kind of insurance against injury? Meaning, what if Jeanty goes down in week one for the year (god forbid)? And what about the others that are cashing in, does the NIL donor have some kind of insurance in the event things go sideways?

I don't know but I think it's a one time cash payout for some of that total. There's a car (don't think it's a lease either) and a house for a year too. I would imagine a 'contract' could be written for monthly stipends but what happens with injury is a good question.
kingpotato
Buzo feels like the Paris Austin situation. I don't expect a recruiting process with him. It's already lined up where he is going. Hearing it's USC.
jdgaucho
Good pickup by USU. We were hoping to pair him with Swenson.

Rains and Tust are claiming that Buzo's estimated $500k offer is 5 times what he's getting now. Which suggests he's getting $100k or close now? I know the Broncos NIL doesn't work like SDSU's where everyone gets a few grand a month. They instead pay their top performers that they fear will get poached. And they can't bump his pay up to $500k. Not even if he was a POTY candidate for the next season.

With all the success the Aztec program has had in basketball I’m surprised they don’t have numerous boosters willing to pony up the big bucks for elite players. Particularly in a large metro area like San Diego.
