Just announced that SJSU PG Cardenas is coming to Boise State. Gives Boise State much needed depth and shooting at the guard position. Now get a true post and the Broncos are in business. I mean, BJ Rains has been talking about this for the last few days. Probably others as well. His visit wasn't much of a secret. Foreign player, so very limited NIL opportunities, which made his recruitment more about fit than $$. I feel for SJSU.

That’s a big need as we don’t want Degenhart or Ugbo who is closer to 6’7” playing the post when Stanley gets in foul trouble I hope you're right. But I also hope he's not a one and done because the cupboard will be pretty bare for the 25 season when 4 starters graduate.

Cardenas gives them the ball distribution and perimeter shooting that they consistently lacked last season. Boise media wont say it but I will. Cardenas is levels above Roddie Anderson. Cardenas will have to learn how to temper down his frantic playing style to best benefit how the Broncos want to run their offense but I have no doubt he will make the Broncos way better.

Not sure how it happens but maybe some sort of brokering with Spanish firms?

Roddie is a stud athlete but he may never get as good on the ball as Cardenas already is. The future at PG for the Broncos is likely to be Chris Lockett who comes off redshirt this year. Would love to see him be the protege to Cardenas and learn what he can from him as his backup this next season. If I'm Roddie and I believe in myself I hit the portal again (Julian Bowie is a very good future PG coming in as a true freshman next year). Roddie played frantically and it worked sometimes but every game he'd have 1-2 boneheaded TO's and his rim finishing was terrible. Not sure Cardenas has to change anything to make the Broncos better. Anderson’s biggest issue is that passing to create an opportunity for a teammate does not come naturally for him. Many of his assists were created by him dribbling a lot and then passing to as perimeter player for an open three. Theres some value in that but the better playmakers create layups for their teammates.

And his scoring wasn't all that good either. It's pretty surprising how good the Broncos got last year considering their guard play overall wasn't near the top of the league. Cardenas for Roddie sounds even more weird. Effectively it'd be a trade between league members.

Just listened to an interview done today with Cardenas. He says he's coming in to play PG but when asked about Roddie he said he can see them on the floor together. He did play some good defense for us most of the time. If he can improve his three point shot he’d be a great 2 guard for us.

Better defender against non PG's, more length and he also has to prove he can shoot even though he came in as a sharp shooter and the next 'jessup'. I wonder if Anderson is just PG 2 and learns how to manage a game from Cardenas. Then what about Lockett? I would love to hear an interview with Rice right about now.
