quickdraw
Some people picking Princeton to win the NIT. This is a time to make a statement and continue to build a new culture for UNLV. This is the first shot to be fired for next year’s season with our returning players. I find it hard to believe that every player isn’t all in for this game. But of course that may be because he takes so much crap from people and he’s just done with it. I would love to see them all go play hard and win it all, get a little redemption. But I’m not them. Confirmed. Thats too bad, they could beat Princeton with a full roster. But, why change things up now.

But I didnt say anything about conference strength. I said cellar dwelling. Osobor came from twp doninant montana st teams that were winners. I dont care what conference, just know how to win. USC was a cellar dweller last season. I would just make sure it's an absolute fit and the 'talent' is really there if grabbing guys from low win total squads. You learn how to win. Losing can be contagious.

Admit is more 'hopeful" when we see transfers from P4 programs .........not that exciting to see UNLV load up on Big Sky, WAC & other one bid 14-16 seed type conferences Think the OSU, OU, WVA, AZ guys coming in sort of gave us some hope that didn't fully materialize ........not sure there would have been much "hope" or expectations if the transfers were from Idaho, Utah Tech, Portland, etc.

I'd rather have the better player from the team that won the most. Recruiting is hard. You have to find talent, attitude and fit. The last guards KK signed were from winning HS programs in LV and Washington. Contrast those two guys to the other two guards who put up decent numbers at Hawaii and DePaul. Both losing programs. The HS guys who came from winning are just way better. Doesn't matter what level. Did they win there?

There could be some solid growth in a few of our guys but you can’t let the season rely on a hope and a prayer. From 2 years of a track record I would say that nothing will magically change with either Nowell or Cottrell. We will need those scholarships to find solid transfers. This will be a crucial season to build on the momentum of this past few months. Now the waiting to see what this staff can put together. The off season has officially begun. Shaker
With season being over I am expecting to see a few transfers from UNLV. Wouldn't be surprised if we only have 5 or so players back next year that played this year.
Rosegreen
We need some junkyard dogs, guys that will get after the ball. Too many guys this year standing around waiting on the ball. We have a seven footer parked deep in the corner waiting for a kick out or pass. Just +++++ing standing there, and you wonder why he doesn’t get any rebounds. I think the other thing is coaching, maybe some staff changes. Guys weren’t mentally ready for games, and that starts with coaching. I’m pretty sure if Lon was coaching this team, there would be a player or two kicked off the team.
qwelish
Cottrell did a better job attacking rebounds late in the season. But for most of the year 6'3" guards were boxing him out and grabbing boards over him. Popping and corner sitting yes, but just general lack of tenacity and anticipation. qwelish
His on court demeanor fit like oil and water with Huggins. McCabe had high skill and a little moxy. But a negative athlete.
