Spaztecs
If UNLV fans can run off season threads despite a decade of athletic suck-a-tude, we cycling geeks can have our own as well. @thelawlorfaithful can still run his TdF thread separately. @BioAggie. @ripple effect. @misplacedcowboy. @renoskier @Someone Else @toonkee @Posturedoc 1 Quote "We don't have evidence but, we have lot's of theories." Spaztecs
I heard this tidbit in the off season, but wanted to save it for the Racing Season. J.J. Rojas has retired from cycling. He was known as Senor Quatro for his propensity for finishing in fourth place. He did so 48(?) times in his career. Contrasted with 24 podium appearances. He pulled off the most Senor Quatro thing of all all time by finishing 4th on all three stages of the Tour of Valencia in 2003. In the 2014 Paris-Nice he finished 4th on two stages and in the GC. Last season, his best finish was, you guessed it, fourth place in the Tour of Valencia. Quote "We don't have evidence but, we have lot's of theories." thelawlorfaithful
Season recap so far. The Australian races happened, who cares. Somebody won blood money in the Middle East. Van Aert took third instead of 2nd on the cobbles so that’s new. Tadej detonated a nuclear bomb for an 80km solo at Strade Bianchi. Jonas crushed everyone in Italy. And Matteo Jorgenson crotch chopped Remco Evenepoel in France. All eyes return to Italy for the first Monument of the year. Milan San Remo is dull as hell for 6 hours and then exciting as it gets for about ten minutes. Tadej vs MVDP. If Tadej checks this one off it’s only Roubaix, the Giro, and the Vuelta to complete the Merckx. MVdP will be flying the world champions jersey defending his title. Spaztecs
I enjoy the Spring Classics, but Volta a Catalunya starts next week with three high mountain stages. I have only seen one partial startlist for Catalunya. Sepp Kuss, Tadej Pogacar, Joao Almeida, Simon Yates, Quinn Simmons, Christian Rodriguez, Andreas Kroon, are confirmed. The Stage 2 finish at Vallter Quote "We don't have evidence but, we have lot's of theories." Americans Mayor
Spaztecs
Stages 2,3,6, and 7 profiles. The ones that matter. 1 Quote "We don't have evidence but, we have lot's of theories." Americans Mayor
Posturedoc
And here I thought this was going to be a thread dedicated to our sweaty cycling pursuits, not more waxing eloquently(or not!) on the all the races that aren’t the Tour de France. Five posts in and my eyes are already glazing over!

Pain, sweat, dirt, blood, puckery downhills, grueling uphills, catching that twat who sprinted past you when you were supposed to be out for an easy spin, gliding through 4” of powder (magical) like you were skiing trees, the glory of watching freezing fog cascading down a mountainside as you take in a socked-in Truckee Meadows from the top of a climb before descending into that frozen soup—so much to relate. But if you’ve only ever experienced it from a screen…

Basketball is probably the best sport to show pure athleticism. The sport that requires the most athleticism, strategy, endurance, strength, courage and guts is clearly folkstyle wrestling which is used in HS and college. It’s the toughest sport, hands down. You also have to make weight like boxing which can be a bitch. Another brutal sport is World Cup and Olympic Downhill Ski Racing. Up to 95 mph in sometimes icy conditions with poor visibility. Some have died in crashes.

Spaztecs
I was listening to the cycling podcast and they revealed that Red Bull has bought the controlling interest in Bora Hansgrohe. Both Bora and Hansgrohe will continue as secondary sponsors. Look for a rebrand and new Team kit for Le Grande Boucle. Will they go with Red ? Or a kit that looks like a Red Bull can ?
