Calipari to Arkansas is absolutely crazy

That would’ve been great if it happened on April Fools.  Literally no one would’ve bought it.

Cal didn't like the bitching from the fans so he bounced to a similar level of recruiting type school where he can get paid just as much with half of the pressure

The Hogs are every bit as crazy as the UK fans, if not more.

There's just fewer of them.

It gives me a headache just trying to think down to your level

Cal to Arkansas feels like Pastner to GTech but with a lot more money involved. UK wanted him gone...UPigg wanted to make a splash hire so mission accomplished but I still say Cal's best days are behind him. I think he will bring Arkansas some gaudy W/L record along with a couple Sweet 16/Elite Eights but falling short of a FF or Title. (EDIT: and UPigg will pay an absolute fortune for it)

Nolan Richardson won a national title at Arkansas.  No reason Calipari can't do the same.  And as always, the money that runs thru the SEC is absolutely insane...  $8M a year to coach college basketball.

Kentucky's next coach will likely be Mark Pope per multiple sources

Shit.  BYU's coaching prospect list is not inspiring.  Was hoping Kentucky would be underwhelmed with what Pope has accomplished so far.

You know the UK fan base will be.  That will be a tough sell to those lunatics.  I hope he gets paid really well for all of the shit he is going to have to put up with.

Remember that BYU's in the Big 12 now.  So who you looking at?

There's been an unwritten rule that BYU head coaches have to be temple-recommend holding members of the CoJCoLDS.  That unwritten rule was publicly disclaimed when Diljeet Taylor was (deservedly) hired as BYU's head coach for the women's cross country team.  Unfortunately, I think they'll stick to the unwritten rule for the two highest-profile coaches (football and men's basketball) which is severely limiting.

A few names I've seen thrown around that might meet that threshold are Mark Madsen (currently head coach at Cal, former head coach at UVU) and Chris Burgess (current assistant coach at Utah, former assistant at BYU).

I'm hoping they expand the search to include candidates that can respect BYU's mission while not necessarily being members of the CoJCoLDS.  That's probably still a somewhat shallow talent pool, but can hopefully provide some really good options.

I’m pretty sure I called that one.  Maybe not on here but to my coworkers.

I also had Kalen DeBoer to Alabama.

I really hope it's not Madsen.  Because then Cal opens up again.
