If you say so...  I think you're taking an awful lot of liberties with what little information has been shared.  But to each their own.

Let me just say this we were all shocked BYU paid that amount. I have had 2 brothers who worked for the church. They never pay face value.

it makes a lot more sense that Ryan Smith paid most of it than BYU cough it up. There is no disputing that Ryan Smith fork over millions. So based on decades of the church and BYU’s behavior I’m almost certain Smith paid well over half the salary.

the other thing BYU is extremely private with finances, for the numbers to leak someone else was heavily involved.

I don't know what you're reading to give you the impression that this is all being paid for by Ryan Smith.  I know he contributed "millions" and committed more $$$ to the program but it's a stretch to suggest he's footing the entire bill here.

I don't think @robe understands how an athletic budget works.  Anything Ryan Smith or any other booster gives to the program falls under donations, which can be a big part of gross revenue. BYU still pays the bills.

The fact that BYU mentioned Smith had a part in this only shows their gratitude for Smith. And honestly, he probably used his NBA sources and pull to get this done. Nothing wrong with that.

It's obvious that Smith and Danny Ainge both played a significant role in getting this worked out.

Plus, it was for coaches AND infrastructure.  Which costs a bit more than coaches.

It gives me a headache just trying to think down to your level

You can find BYU's financials on the US Department of Education website, just like all the other schools.  You can drop this odd conspiracy theory. It's just normal business goofball.

Tell us again how the new BYU coach will be getting paychecks directly from Ryan Smith and Smith Entertainment Group. LMAO.

One of the dumbest posts this year.

BYU just gave an exiting coach one of the biggest middle fingers ever. At this point most BYU fans are good riddance we have a better coach anyway. Maybe he had an inkling this was happening and it was part of the reason there was no statement from him of gratitude for BYU.

How often do you lose a coach to Kentucky and you replace him with an upgrade. Never. It reminded of the BYU chant echoing at Allen field house this year. KU fans were in shock.

Young might end up being a major overhype, but that doesn’t matter BYU has shown they are in the game regardless of what Young does or doesn’t do.

I miss the delusion of YBU fans. Big12 fans are in for a treat.

Dude, we had UT.  And many of us still live amongst Aggie fans.  BYU fans are amateurs by comparison.

In football(which drives the bus), I think their delusional fans got a real eye opener in 2023 on what it takes to play big boy football every week. Not just a few games every year.

There’s some rational BYU fans out there but the local BYU crybabies in this market were pretty quiet last year.

Robe definitely fits the delusional, uneducated group of BYU fans that think they should have full control of all B12 decisions and be at the top of the CFP rankings.

I’m right again.

Sportsnations confirms Ryan Smith and BYU are funding his salary. No break down anyone who things BYU funded more than half of this is delusional.

Holmoe said we won’t be doing this going forward very often “because smith funded it you morons” So pretty much exactly what I told everyone yesterday.

Take that you ignorant Ute and TCU fan.

Lindy's not going anywhere. We hire Renee Jimenez from D2 Cal State San Marcos.  She coached the Cougars to the Final Four this past season and was once an SDSU assistant.

What did you think of the presser. I’ll refrain from talking about what I didn’t like. Did you see Ryan Smith talking to Dallin Hall?
