She's one of the six leading Ds in Senate races referenced in The Morning today.

As a Nevadan, I honestly don't know that much about Rosen, or what her main messaging even is. Both of our senators are pretty quiet. They seem to stay out of the fray for the most part. Surprised any kind of populism is really attributed to her successes.

You’re a moron if you think most of the above is going to happen. Of course that goes without saying.

It will mostly be blocked in court because Trump will most likely not be able to accomplish it legislatively. He will definitely attempt to accomplish it through executive actions. He may succeed on some points.

The entertaining part will be the howling and screaming about it.

They missed banning pickleball.

My favorite things to scroll through on social media right now are videos of tennis players destroying pickleball players at pickleball.

It's in the air.  It's what's being talked/written about a lot of late.  Mostly anti-big corporate power, reign in big tech, and of course anti-China.

No more PornHub, OnlyFans, NSFW sub-Reddits, etc.

Better stock up now on old Playboys, Penthouses, and x-rated VHS tapes on eBay and elsewhere. Then build a hiding place for them.

Project 2025's "Mandate for Leadership" says "Pornography should be outlawed. The people who produce and distribute it should be imprisoned. Educators and public librarians who purvey it should be classed as registered sex offenders. And telecommunications and technology firms that facilitate its spread should be shuttered."

Looks like BNB is OK with the Handmaid's Tale being a documentary.

I am not stupid enough to think bumper sticker slogans will be close to reality if Trump wins,

You may easily fall for simple phrases, and bumper stickers though.

I said that’s what they’re going to try to do. A lot of it would be held up by the courts, but a lot could still get through.

With the current make up of the Supreme Court, they absolutely could get some of this agenda passed.............Taking over the court give them the overriding factor for any lower court judgement they don't like.

if trump gets another term, expect Alito & Thomas to retire sometime in the early term & that allows the LOSS to insert two more 40-something justices & that's 5 of the 9 that could sit on the bench for 30+ years

Then there's the factor that (under current law) trump is in his supposed last term & could go totally rouge knowing that he's not running for re-election and has no one to answer to other than his donors & cult .......... plus his 2nd term will not have some of the saner cabinet people, this time he will load up with ass kissers & wannabe's that could lean to authoritarian rule & will clean out government & put in their allies across the government

Whoever it was on Trump's campaign that thought it was a good idea to try for Libertarian Party support is probably getting an earful behind the scenes.

Who’s bright idea was it for Trump attend that event?

Were the caught off guard?  Was somebody in the Trump Camp pissed off at their Cult Leader?  No matter the reason, I think the Trump Machine really needs to be questioning #45-DJT’s campaign strategy folks.

Project 2025 makes this one of the highest-stakes Presidential elections, as far as I'm concerned. They want to effectively exert an absolutist view of Presidential powers.

Key Points

  • Abolish the FBI
  • Slash DOJ funding
  • Abolish Department of Education
  • Limit scientific funding
  • Abolish Department of Commerce
  • Criminalization of pornography
  • Elimination of abortion as health care
  • Removal of protections from discrimination based on sexual orientation
  • Elimination of affirmative action
  • Reducing climate change initiatives in favor of increased fossil fuel production (even though we've never produced more than we currently are)
  • More tax cuts for the wealthy
  • Ending the independence of the FCC
  • Ending the independence of the FTC
  • Give the Executive the full independent power to fire any federal employee for any reason, effectively treating all federal employees as political appointments.
  • Remove Medicare's ability to negotiate drug prices.

The list goes on and on.

You got my attention w/"Criminalization of pornography"

What can I do to help make sure this platform doesn’t succeed?  All hands on deck ppl!!!

I find it hard to believe will let this happen.

The best thing to happen at the Libertarian Party Convention was the nomination of Chase Oliver as their presidential candidate.

https://www.politico.com/news/2024/05/26/libertarians-reject-trump-rfk-chase-oliver-presidential-nominee-00160040

The Mises Caucus has fallen. Finally, after two years of insanity, the Classical Liberal Caucus has risen.

Droves of these so-called Mises Caucus libertarians (including Mises Caucus/Chair Angela McArdle) are vowing to vote for Donald Trump, which shows just how libertarian they were in the first place.

Their biggest gripe with Oliver is that he wasn't stridently anti-vaccine, and he isn't anti-trans/drag queen story hour, and that he's gay.

These +++++ing bigot culture warriors need to GTFO of the Libertarian Party and go back to MAGA. Wanting to use government to intervene in parenting to defend values is conservatism, not libertarianism.

I'll happily cast my ballot for Chase Oliver.

The fact that they are going to try to do these things but probably won't succeed is not a ringing endorsement. In my opinion the fact they want to try to do these things are a non starter for me. But that is just me.
