I agree....but the RW media is perhaps 10% of total.

It makes up for it in high viewership. Plus, many are streaming or podcasting their news and opinion from the extensive RW websites.

There's a reason why they ignore the MSM. They prefer the messaging and info they received from AM radio, Fox News, and the internet.

Perhaps you both struggle because you arent familiar with prices in SoCal? Shacks with almost no investment selling for near $1mm pretty much throughout the region. I get that they are separate.

what do you mean "with almost no investment"?

Agree on Number 1.

On number 2, I remain skeptical of ranked choice voting. I fear unintended consequences of an electorate that does not really understand how it functions.

I think an easier solution for now would be open primaries nationally, at least in Presidential elections, to lessen pandering to the party extremes.

What negative consequences have you seen Alaska?  Sarah Palin becoming unelectable?  Lisa Murkowski being one of the few to stand up to Trump because she doesn’t fear being primaried?

I guess I would understand your criticism if we haven’t had small scale modeling in Alaska and Maine for years.  The result: 1 independent Senator from Maine and 1 non MAGA Republican from Alaska.  Ranked choice voting broke the back of MAGA is Alaska. 40% extremist candidates can’t win in a ranked choice system

People in Alaska figured it out fine..  Now granted it probably too complex for Idaho.  But if Alaskan’s can figure it out most states not named Idaho likely can too.

Are you saying that property values are only based on land on not the thing on it?

No he is saying you only depreciate buildings over their useful Life and not land.  Depreciation is a means of matching the expense of a useful assets against their life.  Which could leave to another better government reform.

change public finance models so investments in public infrastructure is not expensed the same as transfer payments.

AM radio isn’t media???    Yes they tend to consume media in easily consumable forms but it’s still media…

I never insinuated it wasn't.

RW messaging found it's sweet spot in AM and cheap cable access. It exploded with Social Media.

Not so much as figuring it out but it adds a whole other layer of complexity that allows bad actors to try and claim fraud based on wrong intent in ranking.

I think with the hyper focus on elections, and candidates making fraud a centrality before elections are even held, adding more complexity to the process is not the correct way to go.

I think it likely works in small states. I like the idea of it philosophically. I just see issues executing it in a state like Arizona or Michigan or Georgia or even Nevada.

Okay interesting point on the fraud claim.  Trump would certainly hate it as it would prevent him or his ally’s from winning in many states and would almost certainly use it to attack the system.

I guess in my view he will attack it anyway and I hate the choices the current model has uniformly resulted in delivering.
