Welcome back baseball fans!  We will be doing another season long rendition of the baseball thread, primarily centered around the MWC, although like last year, where we had a few TCU, UCSB, and Houston fans following along, we welcome those outside of conference, with the reminder that this will be the base board for the MWC, so please consider that before posting.

Let's layout the basics and ground rules:

-This is not a smack thread.  Perhaps some ribbing during a game, but trolling will be modified or posts deleted, and continue trolling will have you asked to no longer post in the thread.  Let's keep this one civil.

-The OP above will serve as the standings and weekly schedule, updated at the end of Sunday's games, hopefully. Please don't  be mad if there is a delay.  I also will throw one in the main body of the thread as a regular post.

-I will try to be diligent with the rankings, and will update when the new ones come out, and will list them for the opponents as well.  It will be in NCBWA/D1Baseball.com order  .

That's it for rules, I believe we will be just fine without much work on our parts.

So depressing to see a team sitting this low with so much talent w/n a 2 hours drive.  Hoping the new regime can right the ship in short order.

UNLV & SDSU should generally be at the top of the MWC with the talent within a few hours

It was hard to believe the projected RPI of the whole conference.  It is tough to believe with the weather and talent throughout the MWC that at least one power team hasn't emerged.  Maybe this is the year.

It looks like this Aztecs team has some solid players. I don't understand why SDSU hasn't dominated the MWC in baseball. The Aztecs just haven't been very good throughout the years. It's mind boggling, especially with all the talent in the greater SD area.

I'm hoping for a big turnaround with this new guy Shaun  Cole.  We finally have a young guy to head the program.  Just like Sean Lewis for football.  They bring energy and high expectations.  For a change we should see much more attendance instead of just the players' families in the stands.

This'll be fascinating to watch.  Rintaro Sasaki, the #1 ranked prep player in Japan, is rejecting pro ball to play at Stanford.  As an international student he won't earn any NIL compensation, but he could potentially reach the major leagues more quickly in the US.

Stanford beat out UCLA, Vandy and Cal for Sasaki.
