Bronco7454 Posted February 11 Author Share Posted February 11 Boise State lost 9-0 in their first game on Saturday to Wisconsin (in 6 innings) and then came back from a 4-0 deficit to beat Arizona State last night. Boise State had played - and lost - to Arizona State six times prior to last night so last night's 6-4 Boise State win over Arizona State was their first win against the Sun Devils (ever). The major difference between those two games yesterday was Boise State's # 1 pitcher Taylor Caudill. Caudill did not throw a single pitch in that first game. Jenna Bloom started both of those games yesterday but she got torched in both games by both Wisconsin and Arizona State hitters. In the second game Caudill took over after Bloom had faced six batters and had recorded only ONE out. Caudill pitched basically the entire game (after ASU had scored 4 earned runs on Bloom). My question is what is Boise State going to do for a pitcher after this season (assuming Taylor Caudill -currently a 4th year Senior - is done after the 2024 season)? For those interested in watching today's Boise State game on the S.E.C. network it can be seen if you are a TV streamer and you have the ESPN streaming channel on your device (Roku, etc.). Boise State's true freshman pitcher Abby Dowell pitched more than 5 scoreless innings - against # 6 ranked L.S.U. - before giving up that home run in the bottom of the 10th inning. Boise State was behind 2-0 for most of that game last night before rallying and scoring 2 runs in the top of the 6th inning to tie the game at 2-2.
