Fillmore sounds like he was a turd too. Credit for speaking against slavery before it was cool to do so, but he didn’t have much of backbone. Supporting Andrew Jackson says enough.

Tyler sucked too. Buchanan sucked, starting to see a trend here. Not an easy job to have where people think fondly of you after you have left.

Reality is most of them sucked, some just less than others

Even John Adams was an awful president

Clinton is probably a piece of shit human being.. but I’ll always look back at his presidency as a good time for America. Maybe it’s just personal nostalgia and internet coming of age, but to me the 90’s were the greatest decade of this generation.

He had some good policies. Balanced the budget. Didn't go to war over Somalia or Bosnia.

NAFTA was a phuck-up.

Curious why people have GW Bush advancing.   Yeah the guy he is up against died in office.  But you can argue the country would have been better off if GW had died.

* was handed a surplus and exploded the deficit

* got us into an unneeded war in Iraq and destroyed a country

* his Lax regulation led us into the subprime mortgage collapse and almost sent the country into depression.

* his tax cuts further contributed to the wealth inequities we see today.

You forgot the PATRIOT act.  But in the end, he actually was a President, Harrison had a cup of coffee, caught a cold and died before he did anything presidential.  It is like a MM Dayton game, where the entire starting lineup of the University of Harrison got sick and died before the game.

Now, if GW gets past the next round...

Excellent and fun thread. Obviously this took you some time to put together.

Rough bracket to lead out with but you kinda had to. All these guys are at the ass end of Presidential legacies. Just missing Nixon and Jackson.

Almost all of these are coin flips.  The Trump and Biden ones are tough due to the newness vs weighing the long-term pro-cons of their competition.  GW getting the nod is the only one I can just say "Yep, that's the one on here", and that is because there is actually no opposition.

Garfield/Johnson should be a no brainer as well

Listen that guy who died in 30 days didn't have enough time to +++++ anything up, that makes him a winner in my book

I guess I would prefer a guy who died in office and did nothing to all the F-ups and disasters that can be laid at the feet of GW.

William Henrys campaign was a repudiation of Jacksons two terms and vowed to end Jacksons system of political patronage to advance his position and standing. He was a slave holder and believed slavery was a States Rights Issue. His agenda was to let Congress Govern and veto them only if a Bill was Unconstitutional. He promised to serve only one term.

How can one choose between Pierce and Buchanan ? They should be removed from the competition.

Both were horrible Presidents, pro slavers, and only worsened the rift between North and South. Pierce supported the Fugitive Slave Act fer chrissakes.

How tf is Trump not 46?

How do you rank a guy like Thos. Jefferson? Well respected president, but DNA evidence proves he was a pedo rapist? And you could maybe argue any manifest destiny president pre-WW1 more evil than Don Cheeto.

I feel like there are actually very few guys you could put top 10 with a clear conscience.
